  1. I read a post over on the rider site complaining about our attendance at the Als game. What kind of low life does this after the storm we went through. I for one am getting sick and tired of holier than thou rider fans telling other cities are beneath them in the CFL hierarchy. The riders are the only game in town! Of course they are going to get tremendous support, there is nothing else to spend your entertainment dollar on! Let’s hope the Bombers meet them in the playoffs and lay a beat down on them prairie pumpkins!

  2. Strevler can throw..not sure why people are on this cant throw train..but when u have minimal practice reps with deeper balls..and chemistry with your receivers.. u get ups and downs...as the game has slowed for him and he has been less panicky and high strong.. his passing gas improved and he has a pretty good completion percentage last several games..give it time..he is basically gaining experience and instinctive reaction tendancies now as most other guys have gathered throughout 4 years of college and first year or 2 of pro..his only being a true QB and a starter at that for basically 3 years now has him behind the curve a bit..and this is huge..all things considered he is developing pretty good in this bizzare offence..and really should have a winning record as a starter this year if we didnt give 2 of his starts away

  3. I say this with a totally unbiased, cleansed pallet. Rider fans since the mid 00's have become the most repugnant fans in North American sports. They used to be the lovable losers of the league and were a fun group to get in a rivalry with. They had a small, ever so small taste of success, and they've become insufferable ass clowns for it. It's like someone growing up in poverty winning a scratch lottery ticket for 50k. They develop a weird sense of arrogance. They're still trash to their core, but think something is owed to them. Go to RF.com and look at the typical post about Winnipeg. They **** on Winnipeg, in full view of the city and province they live in. Regina, and Saskatchewan as a whole, is a boring, shitty, cold, ******* wasteland. Everything they make fun of Winnipeg for is 5x worse in Saskatchewan and Regina. If it wasn't so ******* desperately pathetic and troubling to see people so stupid and lacking self awareness, it'd be comical. But these ******* knuckle dragging potatoes get to vote in federal elections and show up to civilized cities outside that thunderdome of a province and shower us with their hillbilly antics. I despise all things Riders, and not because of their on field success. No, they don't really have any to speak of. I despise them because of their inbred, hillbilly, dueling banjo, red neck, racist, ignorant, manure dumping, clueless fans. I wish a pox on their house and hope the Grey Cup doesn't get stained with that taint a province for decades to come.

  4. In the spirit of the day, I wish that all and sundry have a great day and that all of us remember how much we all have to be grateful for. We may not agree on all things, sports or political but we live in a great city, province and country whereas what we take for granted many cannot even hope for. Thank God for dirty dishes!

  6. Streveler has had far more playing time than any second year player ever should. Not only did he start the first month for us last year but they've worked in a whole extra series of plays just for him during games where he's not the starter. It's absurd to day he hasn't been given enough reps...

  7. Good job taking the bait guys, very nicely done. Episode 2: certain Rider fans show up on the defensive Episode 3: certain Bomber fans start asking where the mods are Lather, rinse, repeat.

  8. More garbage. Western Canadian weather has made national news for over a week . You playing silly bugger in pretending not to know simply reinforces perceptions.

  9. We handled Montreal fairly well. Just like we should have handled them in the first game but decided to not cover their receivers in the 2nd half. With our defense on the same page we made Adams look average. The only team that actually scares me at all is Hamilton. They will probably win the Grey Cup, if I had to guess. But I'd put our team right up there. When we're playing our best we are better than Sask and Calgary. But unfortunately with losing our starting qb, losing our starting RB and going into a mini slump, and taking the pedal off against some not so great teams, we likely won't have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. And in football that is huge. Im just hoping that with our run game and defense forcing turnovers we can get it done in the playoffs.

    Did You Know..

D.Y.K. With 64 rushing yards on Saturday, Chris Streveler has set a new team record for most rushing yards by a QB. Congratulations Chris!

  15. Hello McFly, This is from CFL.ca. "TORONTO — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats clinched first place in the East Division on Saturday night despite not playing a single down of football. With the Ticats out on a Week 18 bye, Hamilton just needed the Montreal Alouettes to lose or tie against the Blue Bombers to clinch the division. The Bombers defeated Alouettes 35-24 at IG Field, meaning Hamilton claimed first in the East and will host the Eastern Final on November 17." So they did have a chance to finish first. Remember that even a fool can be thought of as wise until he opens his mouth and removes all doubt.

  16. Weird how that talk either gets approval or shrugs from Priders but BLM gets called a jerk for being front and centre for his team.

  17. That's the crux of that team..all me first guys..Purifoy..Edam..Gainey..Evan's.. Hughes..I bet Michah Johnson Hope's to get the heck outta there as that's not the culture he is accustomed to..prob reason why he has done Jack **** there this yr..hoping he gets released in offseason as not earning his cheque..prob go back to Cgy and be dominant again..just like Dennis who hated it in Sask I hope we actually grab second..host a playoff game for the fan base then waltz onto Sask again like last year and end their season..again..and continue to be undefeated in playoffs in their toilet bowl stadium..

  19. Only Rider fans would be concerned about game day attendance when our province has declared a state of emergency. The world could be burning and they'd want to know if they won the season series.

  23. I think that Bridge would have been a better choice for the Bombers than Collaros. Bridge knows the CFL game, has a good arm and would probably survive the first jostle.

  24. Discipline, a varied game plan, execution. It could possibly be said that the Bombers ‘helped’ the Alouettes play some of their worst football. Montreal was absolutely in the game after their punt return TD. Can you imagine the game for us if they hadn’t. We moved the ball, better yet, we moved the ball against a defence that had been playing pretty well. But then we changed that. With Streveler in charge and Harris running amuck. With Bighill and Taylor and Alexander humming, our defence played a very good game. I’m not taking anything away from them. Sure, Montreal didn’t have their best game, but I still like to think we had a part in that.

  25. Streveler waiting a couple years at his age wouldn’t be the worst thing. The reality is he may be able to get starter money some place on a terrible team and ruin his career. Hes best to take his time in his development. He’s only 24... can have a 10-15 year career ahead of him yet.

  26. GAME RULE TIEBREAK When two or more member Clubs are tied in the final Division standings at the conclusion of the regular season schedule, preferential ranking for playoff purposes shall be determined on the basis of the following descending-order priorities and shall be awarded to the Club that: has won the greater number of games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points (i.e. points scored for less points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has scored the higher net quotient of points (i.e. points scored for divided by points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has scored the higher net quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has won a coin toss against the other tied Club. Note: If two Clubs remain tied after other Club(s) are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step a).

  27. And I am still amazed how fast Harris gets up to speed. He may not be the fastest man on the field, but between his acceleration and being tough to bring down, he is a force after the third step.
    2 points
  28. He did exactly this against the Riders in the LDC. Drove us the length of the field for the go-ahead TD late in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately our D collapsed and gave up the winning points with no time left. Streveler did exactly what you have described.

  29. Are we seriously going to go by the old "only lost by" metric? Cause the bombers have a pile of 1 or 2 point losses, even in regina on labour day... plus we actually beat the stamps you know.

  31. Big Chris just needs to keep working with the offence and keep improving the chemistry.... the way they all ready share the workload is impressive, and it will lead to bigger more explosive plays as the chemistry improves.

  33. Agree, but Calgary also didn't look particularly dominant. The biggest difference as I see it are BLM and his receivers. Those guys can go get the ball. Big, physical receivers and a QB that isn't afraid to throw the ball. As someone was saying, and I don't know what's up with the guy, but Matthews used to be one of those kinds of guys and I wish we still had him or at least someone like him for Streveler to throw to. We need someone to step up into that role. Maybe Bailey and/or Lawler. Get Petermann in there for Demski. Woli needs to eliminate the drops. Adams, well, I don't know what's up with him lately. Maybe he's nicked. BTW, for all the heat Streveler takes for throwing the odd INT, have you seen some of the INTs Bo throws? For a guy that's been in the league as long as he has he chucks up some real boneheaded throws at times. Our D can feast on that kind of stuff if Bo is too cocky, and he's always cocky. :-) I think our best chance of beating the Stumps might be to win at least two out of three phases of the game. On D I'd like to see us disguise blitz and sometimes show blitz but drop back into coverage more often than not, try to confuse Bo and force mistakes. Stay with the 3-man rush and try to do a blanket-job on their receivers and punish those boys when they do try to catch the ball. We're not going to stop them but maybe we can limit their success. Alexander is going to have to continue to play aggressively, as are Sayles and Taylor. Smash-mouth cold weather football is what we're looking for. Hits hurt more in the cold. On STs we can't be giving up long TDs and big returns off of punts, kickoffs, or FG attempts. Let's be sure of our tackles, stay disciplined, and wrap guys up. Medlock needs to be money. On offense, pound Andrew Harris down their throats and utilize Strevs legs too. Keep Calgary guessing and for gawd sake Lapo, let Strevs throw the damn ball and stretch the field. It opens things up. Keep the penalties down and we can do this. We need to want it more than they do.

  35. IMO the most likely scenario is: Wpg and Calgary split giving both teams 11 wins. Riders beat BC and Edm to get 12 wins. Calgary beats BC to get 12 wins. The 2nd Skn/Edm game decides first/second place. Wpg gets 3rd.

  36. Yeah that fan base loves to crap on Winnipeg.. and why I am.not sure as their 2 major cities are crap holes with nothing..and all the sask youth leave the province now as soon as they are old enough..tells u a lot..no? The funniest part is they revel in the dude crapping in the flower pot that went viral..and dont even realize..or acknowledge it was a visiting Saskatchewsn resident who did it..that's the funniest part of it and obviously a Saskatchewan thing moreso than Winnipeg. The second funniest is their #1990..maybe they should focus more on the #4cupsinover100yrs If anything that is the essence of ineptitude..or #2saveustelethons....

  39. Yes BC has been bad all year. Losing Reilly may not have changed the outcome (you'll never know) but it certainly makes it exponentially easier. Every team is going to play more or less the same teams but when we were playing BC, Edmonton, and Ottawa they still had something to play for. Edmonton and Ottawa were even considered good teams when we played them. So I don't think it's the same thing at all.

  40. Winnipeg had the soft games early. Riders have them late. BC has been bad all season long. Losing Reilly doesn't change much, just makes it slightly easier to win.

  44. Adams has played quite poorly this year and it hasn't really been mentioned until this week. I know Matthews was a healthy scratch for Montreal, but I have to wonder if we would've been better off keeping him around. It's interesting that everyone is quick to put Streveler through the ringer, especially when almost everyone can agree that our receiving core has had major issues. Adams has shown a lack of fight, Whitehead is useless in our O and Demski is almost a gadget player himself. That doesn't even take into account the terrible playing calling we've been saddled with all year. What kind of production can we really expect from a young QB in an offense like this?
