  2. Harris OL Secondary but I'll single out Sayles. HH-Bailey Ralph Wiggum "I'm Special" Award- The refs and the Command Centre for not realizing Adams was well over the 30 yards line (LOS) on his TD pass early in the third.

  4. 1) Harris - Ran for 166 yards (career single game record), only mistake was a fumble in garbage time. 2) Rasheed Bailey - 5/7 for 86 yards - made some mistakes but on the whole made the most of opportunities given to him. 3) Marcus Rios - played okay, but slid well to cover the check-down, forced Adams to throw into Taylor's area... resulting in the pick-6. At that time it was 17-24 and MTL was still hanging around. Did a good job to block after the INT too. HH - Sayles for 2 picks allowing Bomberland free pizzas tomorrow.

  6. Imagine using a receiver as a receiver and not a gimmick!

  7. What I saw today was a QB with a ton of heart that showed everyone he can run, throw, read the D, and makes plays. He is a guy we can ride a long way and should make a great foul weather QB. Yes he throws a few INTs but he is pushing and stretching the D which does wonders for the running attack of which he is also an integral part. As he matures that is going to become so apparent and Ds are going to hate playing against this kid. If we could secure a couple of receivers that are willing to go after the ball with some physicality look out! Love Adams but he is not a physical receiver. I liked what I saw from Bailey today and can't understand why we haven't seen more of him. Would like to see more of Petermann too.

  8. Lapo without Whitehead is forced to actually call a real game plan. Streveler made some young qb mistakes, but also did some really good things.

  9. I counted 6 guys on here who picked Streveler as a star of the game. Sorry. I just don't see it. He is a second year player, one of the most exciting players I have seen for a while, but this game was not star territory for me. I hope he develops into a star in this league, though, and the Bombers should be patient with him. But he had 2 picks. If Nichols had 2 picks, he doesn't get my vote either!! Streveler 15 out of 25 for 174 yards passing. 64 yards running. 1TD throw, 2 picks.

  10. Hello McFly, This is from CFL.ca. "TORONTO — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats clinched first place in the East Division on Saturday night despite not playing a single down of football. With the Ticats out on a Week 18 bye, Hamilton just needed the Montreal Alouettes to lose or tie against the Blue Bombers to clinch the division. The Bombers defeated Alouettes 35-24 at IG Field, meaning Hamilton claimed first in the East and will host the Eastern Final on November 17." So they did have a chance to finish first. Remember that even a fool can be thought of as wise until he opens his mouth and removes all doubt.

  12. Here's the thing: I don't know if Streveler should be our starter next year, but I find it odd that people are expecting a guy who's seen very limited time as a starter to have issues with decision making. You can't expect him to be 24 and play like he's 30. You learn to make good decisions by making some bad ones. Personally, I like a guy who's willing to take a chance here and there. So maybe, give him some time but expect a hiccup or two along the way.

  16. It’s ok, you don’t have to be excited with Streveler’s play, but you should recognize that with a better game plan, Streveler was instrumental in achieving that victory, whether you agree or not.. The plays were called..he executed..we prevailed. He’s learning. That will come with the interceptions too. He will adjust just as he did later in the game when he threw the ball away instead of forcing it. The team rushed for 240 yards..Streveler 64 yards alone. He contributed. I'm happy for him. (BS - do not try to figure the yardage figures..you have enough on your plate)

  17. Both Fajardo and Adams bounced around the league for a couple of years before they developed into starters. I’m not sure why we would expect Streveler to develop faster.

  18. I liked the pressure the d-line brought today. The secondary also was playing aggressive which was nice. It also helped that VAJ made some brain dead throws. Streveler... love the guy but he needs two more seasons as a back up. We can't expect to win with him running non stop. This off season I would make a push for Masoli (assuming he's the only available decent qb) and I fully would support dumping Darvin and Whitehead and try someone new. I'd also like a new o-coordinator because the o was predictable and while they didn't run trick gadget plays... I still wish we could push the ball down the field more often.

  19. I hope that continues. I don't think other teams schemed to shut down the ground game as much as the Bombers just stopped using it.

  20. I think that’s fair. In the 4th quarter I expected to see basic, totally telegraphed runs straight up the gut, but for the most part the play calling was much more varied. He let the ground game do what it was designed to do, and Montreal didn’t have any real answer for it.

  21. Yeah this was one of the good Lapo games. The issues were really some missed throws more than anything else. Didn't rely on gimmicky crap, just called a normal simple offence and let his players make plays. Needs to do that more often rather than trying to be too cute.

  22. Just having finished watching the game, without reading any comments, I have to give credit where credit is due...Paul LaPolice. Having slacked him for a few games now, I must say he called a heck of a game tonight. Lots of mix, use of his better players, and using Streveler as he should have been doing the last few games. Somebody tell him to keep doing exactly this.

Fil de Jeu - Als @ Bombers

Defensive play calling last two games has been so much better. Might be same schemes, but it’s all about timing as to when a play is called and I’ve been very impressed by what’s been called when in these two games.

  24. I need to re-watch this game sober to post in this thread properly, but I'll say this: Bailey shouldn't come outta the game ever again.....now, to get Petey in for Nicky...

  28. Only one of the two interceptions was a bad decisions. The first one before half time the decision to make that throw was fine, he just needed to put that ball in a different position. Instead of throwing to Adams like he did he needed to just put it up and more to the back of the endzone and let Adams try and run to it. That will come with experience. The other int, that was just a poor decision and throw.

  29. Sorry if this has already been answered. I'm just catching up...but the booth was saying that he had a personal best rush total of 166 yds. Hopefully that stuffs it in the face of the people that claimed he was only good because of PEDs. If he really was taking them he never should have because, apparently, he would have been better without them.

Two more seasons as a backup lol. That’s clearly not going to happen. He will either start next year or he will be gone.

  31. 1- Harris - He ran and didn't stop running. 2- Jefferson - He blocked everything and put so much pressure on Adams that he was a scared and wounded duck by the end. 3- Sayles - Two picks but everywhere today. HH - O Line for smacking the Als in the face all game long.

  35. 1. Harris. Old reliable as always 2. Jefferson - visible throughout the day. Sacks, knockdowns, pressures. Huge bounceback game after being largely irrelevant last 2 games. 3. Bomber secondary - huge pick 6 to seal the deal and held Adams Jr to under 270 yds.
