  1. One thread wasn't enough?

  2. Based on last game, I'd absolutely agree with that. The interior line struggled in a big way and I second the Lucky sentiment. The 'best' receiving corps we've trotted out all year (most successful in my mind) was: Wolitarsky, Bailey, Peterman, Lawler and Adams.

  3. This guy, amiright? Bet he's the highlight at the Thanksgiving table, telling aunt/sister Becky how she put too much nutmeg in the yams, and there's too much salt in the gravy, but all he showed up with is a litre of Mountain Dew Code Red for himself so he can be constantly alert for Booch posts. Interrupts Uncle Grandpa talking about his time during the Gopher wars to yell at the 3-armed shuffling hairy thing he's been told to call Sister (soon to be wife) the correct pronunciation of acai and floutist just because it's sure to make him look smart. Imagine how sad this sock puppet of a human being must be to go to this trouble. Best advice, my sense little sasky moron, think about why you are who you are, then change literally every. single. painfully. stupid. thing.

  4. Our OL is nowhere near as strong with Neufeld and Desjarlais is still a weak link - don’t like sitting Gray at all...

  5. I'll never understand the entitlement of "WE DESERVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING!" .....No. If keeping things close to the vest is the best course of action, then I trust them to do what's right. If we don't need to know, we don't need to know.

  6. Personally, I don't care one way or the other. But... When someone had a scoop about something that was obviously legit, but the Head Coach flatly denies it and presents it as an impossibility, and basically says the media is out to lunch... ...then a few days later it turns out to be true. All he had to say was...yes...we have made some inquiries. It simply does not look good, from an organization that has usually had a good public image.

  7. Not necessarily but a polite no comment would be better than saying the opposite of the truth and not giving a **** what the press or public think about it. In the end it's all public relations, O'Shea is fairly careless with his public credibility even though he's basically the mouthpiece of the organization and holds daily press conferences and a weekly promotional call in show were he mostly spews mindless platitudes. He's like an old time coach that doesn't believe it's part of his job to promote the club, even though he's paid extra to perform those duties, he does so with a grudge. All things matter when one is working for an entertainment organization that is selling it's image and products to the public, you'd think Wade Miller would have gotten that concept through to O'Shea by now. Help don't hinder.

  9. It confirms neither of those. McGuire hasn't even been tested. And, I think the Bombers would say they're developing both of those. It says we need a third QB going into the playoffs.

  11. I think Mike Kelly is the measuring stick on how to judge Bomber executives/management/staff/coaches/players in how they deal with the media and fans. So far so good.

    Laine comments

Just bringing this thread back as a reminder to those that were hating on Laine a few weeks ago. He's just leading the league in points so far this year. It's early, but it's hard to square that fact with the idea that he's "a detriment to the team."

  14. And if McGuire went down .. the emergency QB would probably be someone like Darvin Adams.

  15. You're a hoot - Anyone that disagrees with your view point is a Troll! Guess what! The Bombers have a ton of issues and avoiding discussions on them will not make them go away. Not that anything we say makes all that much difference in any event but folks that have opinions that differ than yours are not trolls at least IMHO.

  16. Buffalo Chronicle: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-buffalo-chronicle/ CBC: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/cbc-news-canadian-broadcasting/ Not sure what "legit journalists" would send you such garbage but you may want to consider cutting ties with them. There is literally nothing trustworthy about the Buffalo Chronicle and it's been known to publish false information. Even The Rebel has a better reporting record, which isn't saying much when you consider the two bozos who founded it.

  18. Or the more likely scenario.... O'Shea is just straight up telling the media to piss off and stop asking about it. Kinda like how he is never straight up honest with the media, which many people refuse to believe. If it's reported it MUST be true!

  19. Yeah Collaros lasted 3 plays this year! Guy can be healthy now, but how many snaps can he actually take? That's the entire problem.

    Osh is a Legend

    1. Our defense collapsed to lose against Toronto, Sask, and Montreal. It got destroyed against Hamilton. It is not good enough. Not personnel, not coaches. 2. Oline has not been good. AH failed a drug test. Our receivers don't fight for balls and have too many drops. The QB'ing is inexperienced. Lapo's playcalling is predictable and easily defended against. As fans we love our Bombers but we get carried away with a little success and think we are better than we really are. Then we are crushed when they fall back to earth. We are an average team and our record will reflect that in the end. What some folks around here can't seem to accept is that if Walters and O'Shea were as good as those people think they are, after six years we should be much better than just an average team. We aren't. We need great players and great coaches that know how to get the most out of those players. We need superior game planning and swift, effective in-game adjustments. We need player development strategies that produce future stars and we need accountability from players and coaches alike. There is no doubt our players and coaches want to win and win badly. The problem is so does everyone else and some of those people do a better job at building winning football teams than we do. Until we, as an organization, find a way to get the best of those people working for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers we are going to continue to see results like one playoff win in six years. Wade Miller, our patience has worn thin and you are now out of time. How much longer is this going to take?

  24. Anyone know what Gray's injury is? To me he's an upgrade at either guard position. Also - broken record time - I've seen enough of Lucky. Not a CFL caliber receiver. He's a returner, period. And the big gadget plays he broke seems like a million years ago. I'd play Bailey and sit Lucky. Not sure who has the man crush on Lucky - Lapo or O'Shea.

  26. Literally makes no sense unless he's not medically cleared. 1. He's getting paid a game cheque. 2. The 3rd QB spot can't be used for a player elsewhere on the roster. So we are playing a player short. Even if Collaros doesn't know the offense at all, would we not want him to play if both our #1 and #2 QB's got knocked out? I can understand not elevating the PR QB because of cap space.

  27. Some juicy info: Andrew Harris: Leads the CFL with 1,095 rushing yards and is trying to do so for the 3rd consecutive season. Mike Miller tops the CFL with 24 ST tackles and with 184 career is tied for #2 all-time with Wade Miller (184). He needs one more to be #2 alone and is 6 behind leader Jason Arakgi (190) Montreal has 8 wins thus far (most since 2014) and of those 8, 4 have been comeback from 10+ point deficits Winnipeg Pass Defence - First 12 games: 280 yds allowed per game; Last 3 games: 382 yards allowed per game. - Montreal's last 7 games: They have scored just one 1st Quarter TD; in the 4th Q/OT they have scored 10 TDs over that span. - Winnipeg's last 4 games - 4th Quarter Scoring: Winnipeg 3, Opponents 37 Winnipeg has been outscored in the 4th Quarter 7 times in 2019 and in each of the last 3 games With 556 career receptions, Andrew Harris is the CFL's all-time leader among pure Running Backs Chris Streveler has 577 rushing yards and needs 64 to set a Winnipeg team record for QBs (Buddy Leake 1956: 633 yds) Willie Jefferson leads the CFL with 12 Knockdowns. No Def. Lineman has led the CFL in PKDs since Fred Perry in 2006 (10) Since the start of 2016 the Bombers are 37-16 with Matt Nichols at QB and just 5-11 when another QB is the starter

  29. But we did get a lot of really important talk about when we should fire Mike O'Shea and why the answer is 3 years ago. Put the last month behind us, kick the crap out of Montreal and send the trolls back to their bridges.

We just need to get over the idea that we are better than we really are. Neither our players or coaches are good enough to win a championship barring a miracle. Serious upgrades are needed.

  38. THE DRY SUMMER... It has been a drier than average year / growing season. We had good moisture in the fall of 2018, and a winter with heavy snowfall. Even with that, it was almost too dry to seed in the spring. Minimal but timely summer rains produced an average crop in most places, with some areas of the province (eg. Neepawa) experiencing a complete crop failure. As for the current moisture: yes, it is wreaking havoc with the harvest and has cost several billion dollars in crop damage so far, with the damage to the soybean harvest still to be determined (eg. we still have 400 acres still out there, but soybeans are a tough crop). However, without this fall moisture, we'd be hoping for plenty of 'wet snowfall' (some snow has low moisture content) in order to seed again this coming spring. To conclude, the fall moisture has been both a blessing and a curse - it will have a significant impact on the MB. economy. Anyone who still thinks this wasn't a dry year...should talk to a farmer in the Neepawa area...they'll set you straight in a hurry.

Tony has been great. I was hoping that they'd use him on commentary and I've been really pleased that it panned out. I agree, I wasn't overly excited about Jericho's new crew at first but it's shaping up alright pretty quickly. Really looking forward to being able to watch the Omega/Janela match on YouTube.

The Riders are not a good team, but their record is better than almost everyone expected, and yes, it is due to their coaching. Whoda thunk? Similarly, it was unanimously believed here that the Bombers would be the best team in the league, let alone the west. Pride goeth before a fall.
