Nichols then rolls out and misses a wide open Lawler.... RB returner Deadmon has pretty good speed... Fenner knocks ball loose from Sinopoli on 2nd down play.. Harris fumbles....Bombers get it. Crockett making some nice runs for RedBlacks.... ....until cranked by that man, Jeffcoat... Nevis very active in the middle... Bombers get initial first down......14 minutes into the game... Hardrick, then Demski go down...and are on the sidelines... Petermann catches a couple of balls..... 2. HH to the refs for having the balls to call no TD while Streveler was lying on the goal line.

  3. oh man this was such a beauty block by Petermann. I love the moment where the redblack blitzer realizes he's been made and so he just kind of decides to have a jumping contest with Petermann.

  7. How do you get Bighill on the field? WTF? Thomas Miles Mom would start Biggie over him.

  8. Matt Nichols very quietly completed 19 passes in a row last night. 14 TD against 1 INT. His completion percentage ranks him 2nd all-time on the Bombers behind Dunigan. I don't care about the yards, I care about the results, and it's all good. The off-season work he put in is clearly showing.

  9. Other random thoughts in no particular order... - I was mildly nervous about the game tonight prior to it starting. Jennings historically has performed well against the Bombers. That said Ottawa has no one comparable to a Burnham or Arceneaux. Considering they're a team the focuses on the short/intermediate passing game, I'm not sure the scheme fit is a good one for him. - The drive before the first half ended was legitimately the best single drive I've seen the Bombers put together in years. Absolutely text book marching 90+ yards with 3 minutes to go to get a TD and leave no time remaining. - Petermann is a tank. I know people have said Woli is a Jason Clermont clone. Personally I think Petermann is, and that's nothing against Woli whatsoever. - Very happy with the depth we have both at import and non-import receiver. - I love Geoff Grey. Jefferson as well. - What's Ottawa's cap situation like? Who exactly are they paying big bucks to? I just can't see why, regardless of who they may be paying, that you let both Harris and Ellingson walk... - Not sure what he did in the off season, but Medlock is pure gold in punting and kickoffs this year. - Lawler is a baller. - The "fake" field goal that resulted in a procedure penalty against Ottawa was amusing... -...As was just about anything they attempted all night. - One of these days, Streveler is going to bounce one off tackle 70 yards for a TD. No kiddin'... - Our D-line as a whole, even the backups like Roh and Thomas...love them. - Lots of 8's and 9's in the rum hut tonight. - I'm a little drunk - And once again, and I'll keep saying it until something changes, no one scares me this year. - HOW BOUT THAT SMOKE?!

  11. Speaking of the tribute to Randle, I thought the one to Ian Wild was nice too but am a bit surprised that there wasn’t one for Fogg. Maybe just not enough time to do two in a game? Either way, what an incredible gesture. The Bombers really are the class of the league in pretty much every way right now.

  13. League needs to get serious on the after the whistle stuff when guys are tied up or on the turf. Looks like we lost Demski and Whitehead both to very late hits on very vulnerable players already engaged/on the turf. No flag on either, see if anything comes supplemental. Both are guys who are very marketable in terms of butts in seats and TV. There's enough probability of guys getting injured in legal physical play, the league needs to get rid of the stuff that is not during play.

  14. I personally LOVE that the flags are selling out so fast. Y'know, demand and all.... I'm trying to figure out where on my west central AB house I'm gonna hang my EastMan flag to best say "**** You" to the Riders and Stamps fans in my neighbourhood...

  15. It was great to see Nichols run right up to Peterman right after the TD and thank him for the block. Very classy move and it shows these guys have each others back.

  16. “It’s guys making tough catches, good blocking up front when I’m not throwing all the time under duress… so things like that, any individual thing, is a full offensive stat to me,” said Nichols of the record. - Ed Tait Nichols completed 19 consecutive passes in the victory to eclipse the Bomber record of 16 set in 1981 by Dieter Brock. He was in machine mode. He just made Trevor Harris look over his shoulder. And Matt’s right. The O-Line did its job once again. Yes, those new guys. Couture, Gray, Speller, And Desjarlais. Bryant and Hardrick look to be all-stars already. And they’ll only get better. By the way, that streak carries over into next week’s game in Hamilton.

  17. I am hopeful that tonight begins the full-on Wolitarsky/Petermann era in our Canadian receiving corp much like the Poplawski/House era lead to so much Bomber greatness. Petermann and Woli - lead us to at least three Grey Cups guys!
