  1. After the emotion of the big win (I think - hard to tell from some of the wailing here over the weekend) has subsided, some thoughts on sober reflection of the events past. - Nichols is good - like, really good right now. I don't really care if he doesn't excite some posters here like the "Strevelation" or pass their subjective eye test. Dude is killing it and I re-affirm my position from the pre-season that people need to get off his back. Some of the (I'll say it right here and now) utter nonsense posted about him not being consistent or not worthy of trust to pull out the big game or spoiling Streveler's chance to get reps and be our star QB remind me why I take 48 off from posting following a game to avoid the hysteria. Others should try it some time. - Streveler is one tough dude, but if we want to apply the same level of scrutiny to his game and we do to Nichols, that INT he threw was not a smart decision, and he's lucky his reckless run and fumble was recovered by his teammates, and that he didn't get hurt himself. People who moan about the conservative approach miss the very point Nichols made on the post-game show. Do not allow any bad turnovers by forcing plays, and at worst the other team needs to drive a longer field and eat up more time. The strategy employed by Nichols and LaPo won't score you 37 more points in the second half, but we aren't playing a video game. It's clock management, and given that the Bombers finished the game with 33+ minutes of time of possession, I'd say the game plan is working to a tee (especially since the Argos has the ball for 7 of the first 8 minutes of the game). -back to Streveler, poor decision to throw with heat in his face, and a really poor throw to boot for an easy pick. That pass may have helped the decision to get Nichols back in - I questioned with Lucky Whitehead's speed why Charles Nelson is back returning punts, but boy he is solid running up to catch tricky punts on the fly and drawing no yards calls -who would have thought Nic Demski would be our deep threat? - for all those wanting Nichols and Harris benched early for fear of injury, rosters just aren't big enough to sit people down on a regular basis. Besides, for the blowout wins the Patriots put up, when do you ever see Tom Brady pulled early? Or any QB for that matter? - BC is worse than Toronto right now. On paper, BC has more talent, and Toronto has been far more overmatched than BC in games, so I know that statement seems odd. But the Argos did not quit on Friday, and BC flat out rolled over at home, the second time they have just stopped playing mid-game in the last 4 weeks. - Jackson Jeffcoat is our defensive MOP right now - Willie Jefferson may not have the sexy stats like last year, but he has been well worth the investment for his disruption on the line of scrimmage alone. - Chandler Fenner is the most visible of the DBs right now. For all the right AND wrong reasons. Either a great tackle/INT/knockdown, or a big bust. No middle ground it seems. - Can we remove Jeff Hecht from the scapegoat list now, especially given what Derek Jones showed in his place?

Whitehead slowing down almost to a complete stop at about the 10 yard line, and then going 0-60 to get to the endzone was something very very special to watch...

  5. Wade Miller taking the reins of the Bombers was really a blessing. The guy knows how to run a business, and is running the Bombers like a business. He was definitely sticking his neck out there by committing to Oshea/Walters long term given their relative lack of experience.

  8. Some Interesting stats. Of the 5 league leaders in ST tackles, 3 are bombers. Medlock has the 2nd most kick off and punt yards. Fenner is our only player in the top 10 for tackles. And he is in a 5 way tie for 5th. Our DL has 6 sacks, charleston hughes has 5 and leonard has 4. In 4 games streveler has 5 tds, and lucky has 3. Harris has 2 tds through the air this year, and none on the ground yet. Nichols is averaging 1 td for every 9.8 pass attempts. Mike reilly is averaging a td for every 33.6 pass attempts (and is tied for 4th in the league in td passes) Our D is extremely balanced, with pressure and tackles coming from all over the field. Our sts has been scary good in every facet this year. And our offense is extremely explosive. With virtually every one scoring, and yet still not healthy or firing on all cylinders.

I'm glad Montreal has turned it around at least 4 games in. They looked absolutely horrible to start but now look to be a decent team trending in an upwards direction, even more so when you consider the tire fire that is happening off the field. I mean, They lacked a starting QB, fired their HEAD COACH between pre-season and regular season and now their GM. They put in a Rookie HC that also has to be the OC with QBs without much experience. Pretty Impressive when you consider all that and it looks to be Khari that is making all the difference so far. Has anyone confirmed if Khari has been able to get his headset off without issue?

  13. With the pressure/disruption the D-line seems to generate up front, it's amazing how poorly positioned the DBs are at times. Especially the veteran players. Tackling has been somewhat sloppy, too. It looks like a lack of attention to detail and/or inconsistent communication, so I'm hoping it can be remedied as this unit builds chemistry. Nichols' long ball was on the money on Friday. His chemistry with Demski has been great thus far and that pass to Adams was absolutely ridiculous.

Things of beauty in a football game: Lucky Whitehead’s weaving his way through numerous Argo defenders with his vision and speed on route to an improbable TD. Lucky’s ability to change direction at full speed is incredible Andrew Harris and his 52 yard romp.. Those TD passes that Matt Nichols threw to Darwin Adams and Nic Demski. On the money. Nichols led the Bombers with an efficient passing performance, completing 18 of 24 passes for 209 yards and three scores. Mr Efficiency. Charles Nelson - 7 punt returns for 126 yards 6 pass knockdowns A tough goal line stand That defensive line- led by Jeffcoat- quite the performance. Having Stanley Bryant - the guy is stellar. Not given enough credit. The interception by Winston Rose 🌹 Nahh keep testing me 😏 he says

  15. There has been consequences to Reed's screwing with the rules- he has been fired, the coach has been fired and Mack has to be on very thin ice. I do not expect Mack to survive the coming purge and the best he can hope for is to survive the season with his salary. I cannot see how the CFL can punish the team to any extent. The team is staggering at best with a flicker of hope and the truth is that the CFL is much better off with a vibrant team in Montreal. Reed is done in the CFL and probably in all of pro football. he will be lucky if he is not charged with fraud.

  17. Personally, I love watching the CFL on TSN. on any night. I just hope the ratings numbers aren’t sliding like the attendance. A new TV deal, with a small bump from global markets, and we're good. More teams have to take the initiative like Edmonton did to get the younger fans into the stadium. I know that’s how I got hooked.

Make your argument for the contrary in a civil meaningful way. If can’t accept that agree to disagree. i present as an example the recent Premiers Conference. The Prime Minister of Quebec doesn’t agree that an oil pipeline through his province would be good for all of Canada. Manitoba Premier Pallister didn’t resort to calling him a moron, idiot or any of the other things he simply stated “We agrees to disagree on that one.” That about how it should work, like debating for drinks. Start a discussion and the first person that swears buys the next round. Think of it as if your boss has a real “good “ idea (at least in his mind). Do you raise your hand in the meeting and say You’re an.idiot, your idea is stupid. It is okay to think that but if you want to keep your job you find another softer more gentle way of getting your message across. Tone can add a lot to the validity of your message.

  30. He mentioned it on the pre-game show. He also brought up the point that Hall was as good as gone last year if it wasn't for Osh rallying hard for him. Milt and Sanchez nodded in agreement. They all seemed to agree that it was a good move not to release Richie. Benevides is excellent on the panel. He adds a good conterpoint to the hysterics of the other guys and drops little morsels like his opinion on Hecht and this Hall scenario. He said something else that made me sit up but I cant remember what it was.

Oh FFS. You're clueless. Check out his QB Rating. Then check out Nichols. As you don't know, the QB Ratings takes his entire performance into consideration. So, his passing stats & wins. You sound more & more stupid with every post you make.

  46. Possible, but entirely without basis. And you are devaluing what Nichols brings to the table. Yes, the team is good, but Nichols is the leader out there and fully understands our system. The system would have to change for Streveler to succeed and he still is not experienced enough.
