  1. "Riders were over confident facing CALs back up" has got to be the dumbest take so for. Riders are a mediocre club at best.

  4. Here’s the easiest way to judge OPI....if on the route the receiver is on he’s even with the DB for 10-20 or more yards and then all of a sudden the receiver has 3-4 yards of separation when the ball comes in he either pushed off or the DB fell on his face. Nobody has the agility to get that separation instantly with their stride.

Obviously when Riders aren't contenders its not that much fun so the casuals stay away. The fanbase isn't uniquely loyal or dedicated. But I know the myth is un-killable.

Let guard down???...no..just played as what they are..nor very good...no depth ..poor coaching and a QB who played back at his normal level...how you can say Fajardo played ok is baffling.. Your oline was a major reason for loss too..allow QB no time to let things develop and are one injury away from utter catastrophe there... Slowly will revert back to your offence of last yr by necessity again I also dont think it's just a coaching issue there on your defence...its more the riders played wayyyy over their actual talent last year with a lot of lucky plays and losing Jefferson..Eguevan..Antigha..took away your elite playmakers and now you are a middling group..has Johnson even played?? Said all along without the supporting cast he had in CGY that he would not be the same force...and for the money payed to Evan's who does nothing you could better use that SMS elsewhere but you dont have Canadian depth to rejig your ratio

  8. My point is Huff the Coach brought in his system. The one he won Grey Cups with when Flutie was his qb in the 90's. Then he taught that system to Dickenson, first as a player & then when he became an assistant coach under Huff. Dickenson learned the system & taught Bo Levi Mitchell. Then Dickenson became HC & brought in Ryan Dinwiddie & he taught Huff's system to Dinwiddie. Now Dinwiddie is teaching that system to Arbuckle & Cozart. This system has been a part of the Stamps continuously since 2008. It teaches & develops qbs . No doubt Dave Dickenson has tinkered with it as he was OC under Huff but the system still is what it is. A winner. Non other team has had that kind of continuity with its coaching staff that Calgary has had.

  10. Willie has played good all year..no big stats up till yesterday but he influenced where or what teams could do and many times was right in the QB's throwing lane or sightlines lurking for a big play..and altered what the QB wanted to do. Last night he was a down right force and seems to finally expressing some of his personality and character. His mere presence...along with the disruptive forces being Nevis and Richardson has made this defense uber tough to run on...and just basically score TDs on..its a culmative effect

    Week 4 Takeaways

WPG. On top and deserve to be. HAM. Ugly loss. One-off or start of a pattern? CAL. Too early to say much about life without BLM. But looked good. Arbuckle gifts TSN yet another new set of tires to pump. OTT. A second best East division football team for sure. MTL. Had a ton of help in a game that should have been a blow out. Khari stopped the bleeding at home though. Stanback emerging star ? SSK. Politely speaking... mediocre coaching, players and play from bow to stern. Thought Marshall set all time speed record for fanbase turning on a coach but Dickenson coming up fast along the rail. BC. Victory against a horrible club was in doubt to the last second. Hard to salvage hope from that. TOR. Chamblin brand takes another beating. Sloppy, dumb football at home vs a soft team is a direct reflection of coaching. Good speeches are meaningless without execution and tactics.

  13. My concern with Streveler is that he's only checking the ball down and that's Lapolice's lack of trust. This is a problem for all of our QB's right now, including Nichols. At times there's a lot of movement in the backfield, misdirection, creative deceptive run plays, play action, rollouts. This is when our offense hums. This is when playing QB for the Bombers is very easy. Then we go to 5-6 possessions of Harris dives, bellies and stretch/search runs (which Harris is awful at, never has been good at, the east-west find a hole runs) and straight dropbacks with very little misdirection or PA. This is when we can't get a first down. This is when our QB's struggle. The way Lapolice preps for each week we won't see a playbook for Streveler unless he is starting. Lapolice installs the plays for the starter and what he anticipates calling in the game, so Streveler's short-yardage package is in there too. So if Streveler comes in he's running a ton of dropbacks, very little option stuff aside from the straight run option plays available for the set Lapo has for him with Nichols playing (we saw him run the same pitch option QB power play 3 times after Nichols went out). Lapolice is a Plan A game prep kind of OC/play caller. Personally I think this is a huge problem because as we see week after week, there's a high probability that you will need more than 1 QB to finish any game.

  15. No one with an unbiased view is going to say Fajardo played okay. Even saying he was bad would be generous. The guy is an embarrassment. He’s been in the league four years so the rookie excuse doesn’t hold water.

Hey Ripper, you seem to be much more generous in your assessment of your QB as opposed to when assessing our's. Those so called rookie mistakes looked a lot more like "deer in the headlights bailouts".

  19. If we use Rider math and take away the big 26yrd play. Fajardo the great managed 63yrds in 3 quarters...

  20. How can Dickenson be pulling Cody Fajardo? Glen Suitor and Ridernation have been telling me that he's a future Hall of Famer whose a combo of Matt Dunigan and Warren Moon.

  31. One thing that I don't think is getting enough talk is the game Darvin Adams had last night. I realize he had only 3 for 55, but the degree of difficulty on his catches were extremely high and would have had a touchdown added to his totals if not for a penalty.

  32. It's interesting how this place has changed in the past couple of years. We used to celebrate victories to the point it would almost and i said almost reflect what you might see at RF.com. But without some of the over the top crap that goes on in that place. I can't tell whats changed. Maybe it's a new crop of posters who just can't enjoy the win but must find something negative to counter balance the positive. it reminds me of a boss I had when I was first starting out. He would shake your hand and give you a compliment but slap you across the head with the other. I asked him why one day after some liquid courage and he said he didn't want his people to get too comfortable or feel too safe. At that time I knew that would never be my management style but he felt it was necessary. After a win I choose to dwell on the positive. Even after a 50 - 0 win you could still find a negative or two but whats the benefit to that? With all the **** going on in the world. Sports is what makes us smile and feel good especially after our team wins. I have no problem discussing something that was overwhelmingly bad or a poor decision but to pick on the minutiae of the win. Thats just a waste.

  38. I'm surprised at how poorly this game has been marketed to be honest. Its obviously been priced quite high, so you're going to have to sell people on it. 1290 had an interview with the CEO I believe it was of On Ice Entertainment maybe about a week ago to talk about the event, but aside from that and the actual announcement itself, you'd have no idea the game was coming here.

  49. I like Dunigan better than Suits or Forde but it wasn't his best night. Burris would be an interesting colour guy imo. As for the PI, you could see the pushoff as the play took place. Fairly obvious.
