  1. Next Friesen article : Bombers too focused locally, missing tons of great talent from rest of the country.

  3. I have been tracking drive based numbers since 2015. The key measurements (in my opinion) are points per drive and yards per drive. Here are the numbers for the active CFL QBs who have been around since 2015 And here are the results through 3 weeks of the 2019 season

  7. Close, it's more in line with hypothetical situations being equal due to the fact they can not be proven. Unless of course we take whatever it is that you do, that allows you to see these hypothetical situations unfold. You're hypothetical situation where lucky doesn't play, leaves out the fact that he would have been replaced with another player, game plans would have changed and the offense would have looked different....key word there is different. Not worse, not better. Just different. Your opinion is that it would have been worse (which is why they would have lost) mine was they would have been exponentially better. Neither can be proven, even though yours was based in reality a bit more, it was still a ******* ridiculous thing to say.

With a short week of practice, won’t be surprising if McLeod Bethel-Thompson takes first team reps and gets first start of season versus @BCLions Franklin, my dear, I don’t give a damn. 14. Looks like a solid list- the only change I would make is swapping 2 and 3- Ti-shats should be higher than the shmoes. Shmoes beat two terrible footbal clubs. Ti-Shats beat 2.5 terrible footbal teams, but beat two of them like a rented mule- so I give them the edge.

  15. true true,....I heard that Nichols told them in the huddle though to run deep patterns waving for the ball...but they thought otherwise and helped make the play successful as per the plan...good thing shitty Nichols isn't respected in the huddle or we would lose more games than we win

  17. EITHER WAY its a dumb argument...to say a team would have lost because a certain player had a good game is pretty much pointless...if that was the case then every game pretty much a team shouldn't have won...nor could have won if not for that player...whom is on the roster for a reason...to make plays to help his team win...like wtf?!?!

    Week 3 Takeaways.

Bombers are the best in the league and proved it by beating the second best team in the league last week. Hamilton needs to play in the West to prove they are who they think they are. Calgary will come together soon enough. BC...Sucks. Sackstenchewan....Stinks. Ottawa will fall apart at the seems this week. The Kavis Reed Circus will continue. And finally, Toronto is doing their best to lose the Argos in hopes of getting the Bills to move North. Oh and Matt Nichols will keep on winning and throwing TD strikes and some people here will still cry over their spilled milk instead of clanking the beers together over a Huge Bomber W like the rest of us do!

  23. I prepared the charts for previous seasons prior to the start of the season. At that point, only active QBs were relevant. Here are the numbers for the retired QBs. A few factors got me looking into a drive based approach rather than the traditional passing stats 1. There were many drives where QBs would go 3 for 3, 4 for 4 etc. and the drive would result in a punt. The completion percentage was great but the result was bad. 2. The pass efficiency rating focuses on TD passes. A drive that ends in a TD rush is just as significant as a drive that ends in a TD pass. 3. Over the past decade, we have seen the role of a situational QB flourish. A number of TD drives end with a backup QB punching the ball into the end zone, taking any opportunity for a TD pass out of the hands of the drive QB.

  26. so based on extensive stats..Mr Game Manager Nichols who sucks (according to Ripper and his band of butttards) basically ranks as one of the top dogs..hu...whoda thunk...I guess there is some correlation to his nipping at .700 win percentage....but alas...It's all on Harris and Lucky

  27. So far..what you can’t count on at this point in the CFL.. Toronto winning more their 2 preseason games. Collaros’ ability to stay healthy. The extraordinary statistics being produced by career backups, Dom Davis and Cody Fajardo. Throwing for over 300 yards leads to a victory. Fat stats for receivers going forward. What happens when defences discover the meaning of defending and that’s their side of the ball? Edmonton being a disciplined team. Chandler Fenner playing corner. The Argos allowing less points than the Raptors. Is that a good thing? The belief that the rookie Coaches are tuned in already. 6 consecutive TDs scored on a team. QB Franklin being money. Saskatchewan, and any kind of numbers. Optics. Is Coach Claybrooks’ hat really crooked or is the hat straight and the head not in line? AND LaPolice, who pointed at the club’s 35 percent second-down conversion rate in last week’s win as an area in need of improvement. Following the results of his MRI on Tuesday, there is no decision yet on a timeframe for Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, according to TSN's Farhan Lalji. Big break for the Riders? The CFL received its best numbers so far this season on ESPN2 Thursday, pulling in 224,000 viewers And finally:

    QB Accuracy Rankings

https://www.cfl.ca/2019/07/02/accuracy-grades-target-week-3/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Not a great assessment for Nichols... 'The downfall of Nichols was the limited number of pass attempts, which could have helped raise his number. Despite making completions, he threw high and away several times making receivers’ lives more difficult.'

  32. First of all, its Streveler, Ripper. Spell his name correctly. Second, I think it foolish to assume that there is no plan to use Streveler more over the course of the season or that if faced with a choice in the off season, Walters automatically keeps Matt.

  35. and here in lies the rub... they've set the bar for what a should be making, at least by them getting paid that much is has set the precedence... but they are overpaid, but you have to believe that every starting QB will start with that number to back into what they think they're worth... so basically you'll QBs that should be making $300,000 to $400,000 asking and probably getting $500,000 to $600,000...

Bombers then Eskimos are supplanting Calgary as class of the West. Are Lions getting closer.... or just more of the same. CAL won but they ain't what they used to be. After crapping out on Jennings and Bridge last year TSN has found a new product to promote and it's Cody Fajardo....until Dom Davis plays again. HAM is just fine, thanks . TOR and Montreal declared disaster areas.

There are a few posters that are "holier then thou" and when their personal opinions differ from yours will attach your manhood and personal character instead of actually debating their opinion.. It gets tiresome, but there are enough great posters that offset the delusional. There are even more that reject the jet package, but i assure you, its the most elite, tactically sound play any offence can run. if you disagree you are ****.

  44. Nichols' play the last season+ probably is playing a role in lower than expected attendance. Barely any games over 27,000 last season despite the team making the playoffs and having a combined record 10 games over .500 in 2016 and 2017 - the previous two seasons.. People were losing faith last year as to whether he could win a playoff game let alone the Grey Cup. Things reached a crisis point at the Banjo Bowl. Fortunately for Nichols, the defense, special teams, o-line and Andrew Harris picked up the slack for his mediocre play in the final third of 2018. Basically Nichols managed most games. Rarely, if ever, did we have a game in which Nichols was great. Not what the fans like to see in a nearly $500K QB.

  45. I don't know what the coaches are thinking but a lot of fans think Nichols is boring to watch - especially with the offensive weapons he's got. What's the point in having Chris Matthews if he hardly sees the ball? Nichols decides very quickly to throw the ball out of bounds. He does that alot. He slides or goes down as soon as a defender gets a pinky on him, instead of fighting for yards. We are blessed to have a shut-down Defence. But if Bombers management is thinking that at least Nichols can manage things so we might not lose - then I think people are going to stay home instead of buying tickets to see the team play. They might sell more tickets by giving Streveler the reigns. He's exciting to watch, even if there are some growing pains. Fans want to see him play.
