  1. Well, won't be seeing Bluto around here until December. There are 10's of people devastated by the results of today's game.

This cannot be overstated. Last year, I needed a place to have lunch on a class field trip. We checked Google maps for the closest park and found a tiny gem just a few blocks away. It was perfect for our purpose - that’s Winnipeg.

Esks learned from us. We took a half to realize the Lions were nothing and, once we did, we buried them. It's going to be a good match-up next week. The two best teams in the CFL battling it out at Fort Hew.

Sunderland has silenced a lot of critics... while having 7-8 starters injured... Ellingson was worth the $$ Hamilton showing that draft picks can play right away What happened to Noel Thorpe... hardly recognize his D Passing AND running the ball is important Coaching continuity seems to be important too Don't overpay for interior OL Popp may be HC by Labour Day... Hamilton and Ottawa have already made the playoffs Gable v. Andrew Harris could be the race to watch this year One of BC and Calgary will be winless heading into Week 4 Somehow Sask is not the worst team in the league

  11. OK you plagiarist, not a bad start but I'm going to one up it and hit the jackpot 1. Us Bomber fans don't give props to the Riders, nor our we in the business of giving them pointers. But I'll tip my hat to Fajardo, not bad. The defense we heard so much about ... Not so much. 2. Dominique Davis says screw numbers. All that matters are W's and L's, which at the moment are 2 and 0 3. Not how you start, but how you finish says T. Harris in Edmonton. And a clean pocket for the QB matters. 4. Devon Claybrooks ... You got some learning to do. Rookie coaches make mistakes, but here's a few pointers. Might want to mention something about run plays, screens, draws, RPOs, misdirections, end arounds or a little something something to your boy Jairius, I mean, gotta look out for MR700k now. 5. No Tasker, no problem in Steel town. But Masoli had better like challenges because they are coming. 6. Toronto ... We have a problem ... No make that catastrophic chaos to end all chaos in the league. Franklin the ultimate successor to Ray .... Not so much, and Captain excuse making Corey must be thrown overboard off the ship as the players have sent the message they give him no effort and hate his guts for dividing the house against each other, and he is 100℅ at fault for all the **** on the field and has blamed everyone but himself. Disgraceful!!

  12. This is a big game for the secondary because Edmonton is a death by a thousand paper cuts style of offense, lots of screens, not much 15+ yards downfield, quite a bit different than Edmonton with Reilly. Harris will not hold the ball long if we're playing in passive coverages and worried about coming up to make tackles. Need some aggression to give the pass rush a chance to make an impact against that scheme, make the throws Harris likes more difficult and force them into a downfield passing game that he doesn't do well with.

Shivers made the mistake of letting Davis run around. He's a nothing as a qb, should have made him stand there and throw, same a s Masolli. We sat in zone too much and we got scorched on it. Shivers will get better, I hope, but I feel the majority of the loss sits at his feet. Offense looked good, but its just one game. We lost and that's all that matters. We lost 2 winnable games against two bad teams

  16. Maybe it wasn't Edmonton's first game of the season? Maybe BC was a bit deflated after losing their home opener? Honestly, I know we've had years of practice at being disappointed but let's not worry too much. We match up well against any other team in the league and finally I'm hoping that now it's the other team's turn to worry about us!
    2 points
  17. Maybe us giving them some game film on BC's offense had something to do with that? Like I said, if your offense not only has a bit of raddy OL, but also no run game or any big physical backs in the backfield, and it becomes overly reliant on an old QB who seems to mostly care about pushing the ball down field every play, that's a recipe for disaster. Edmonton keyed in on it which is why BC had another atrocious 2nd half. Even though Lapolice can drive me crazy with his game plans sometimes, I really don't see him calling that kind of game. I expect him to keep Edmonton guessing as to whether or not Harris is getting the ball, and perhaps even call in the Streveler package a few times to get them off guard. I mean, they couldn't put the Als out until late in the 4th quarter with Vernon Adams, and I'm certain our team is better than that.

All this talk makes me think of how desperate we were for any OL help back then and how seemlessly we moved to 3 new starters this season... Walters has really done a great job with Cdn content.

And I wouldn't pay Myers over $5M. And I wouldn't pay Chiarot over $2.5M And I wouldn't pay Tanev over $2M. It's going to look different. Kind of exciting because last year's crew didn't look so hot after December.

  28. Sean Thomas Erlington emerging as a starting rb and a NI one to boot. Edmonton looks better on both sides of the ball (especially D) than many including myself thought. Is MR on the decline? Toronto, Montreal and the Riders all look like pretty bad teams. Hamilton is clearly the best in the East (I know its not saying much) Dom Davis may be better than we thought.

  30. It's almost like Walters knows what he's doing, because I heard that losing three all-stars was going to be the most devastating thing to happen since the Hindenburg.

  31. As long as Gray keeps doing what he's oing, nothing against Neufeld at all, but he can take all the time he needs to rest up. Kudos to Walters for having this team in a position that despite off season losses and injury, that it's still next man up and not skip a beat.

  36. Actually, a lot of the Riders deferred revenue comes from blackmail payments. You have no idea how much money can be generated when you call a player and say "Give us money or we will trade for you and you'll have to spend the next 2 years waking up in Regina." Even Liam Neeson wouldn't touch that threat.

I do have to wonder why he and Zontar brought it up just now ... Claybrooks has been doing this for years now and I never heard anyone say anything about it until this thread. Now ... I will say I do remember a game a couple years ago when Benevides had his hat flipped completely backwards. I can't lie ... I laughed cuz I thought it looked funny on him. But I didn't rant too much about it. And YES ... I would remind Mr. Noeller that Claybrooks is a head coach .... And he is NOT. Therefore ... He's in no position to judge.

  46. Although Alex Hall was leading the league in sacks at the time he was traded in 2013, he had plans to go to the NFL after the season ended, which he did after helping Sask. win a G.C.. He was cut by the Carolina Panthers in 2014 and returned to the Riders for the 2015 season but didn't last very long. Over the last two years Neufeld has pushed the trade in the Bombers favour, but it took a heckuva long time.

  47. That ‘fella’ did ok in his first game: Kerfalla Exumé, who was making his Canadian Football League debut, finished with a game-high five special teams tackles. 🏈 significance of his five special teams tackle effort? The Bombers record for most special teams tackles in a game is seven, set by Brendan Rogers in 1994. That’s also tied for the CFL record, shared by Rogers and five other players. Two other players – Wade Miller and Derrrick Doggett – each had six in a game. And CFL stats guru Steve Daniel said he cannot find any other instance where a player had five special teams tackles in his first game. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/06/21/rookie-db-kerfalla-exume-making-splash-special-teams/
