I wouldn't trade Neufeld at all..that be the stupidest thing to do for several reasons..one he's one of the better guards in league...secondly he and Bryant are a well oiled unit..thirdly if we did and one of Gray or Speller go down we are hooped..not to mention a well respected locker room leader and what..maybe 30 this year so still young for olineman. You dont throw away solid Canadian depth ..when he is ready he is back starting and Gray and Speller battle it out for the starter and 6th spot

Let me translate for you: Both quarterbacks played good because while the Bomber qb threw three touchdowns, no interceptions and the Bombers won, the BC qb threw two interceptions and one passing td but threw for more yards and, most importantly, he doesn't play for the Bombers, It's simply really, once you crack the code.

I'd have: 1. Winnipeg - Most convincing win of the 4 winners last week, and on the road to boot, plus the expectation going into the game about their prospects. Expectations met for one week anyway. 2. Edmonton - Despite letting the Als back into the game in the 4th, a dominant offensive display that masks any defensive deficiencies for now. 3. Hamilton - Would place them lower but for the fact that they won the game, and played fairly decent defence. But the game was close because of their dumb penalties, and their offence looked bogged down all night. Given how many Rider players (and QBs specifically) they knocked out of the game, not an overly impressive win. 4. BC - Had some flashes, and briefly seemed to get it together in the 3rd quarter, but still need to gel. But aside from the putrid running game, looked less sloppy than the Stamps or RedBlacks, so put them ahead. 5. Ottawa - Really had no business winning the game, and Davis made some god-awful plays. But credit the defence for their turnovers that kept them close, and Davis for his resiliency (and # TDs). Not at all sold on them, but hey, you beat Calgary in Calgary, however you do it, and you can't really be ranked any lower than this. 6. Calgary - Flat out gave away this game. 4 INTs including a pick-6 should never lead to a loss, but they shut down in the 2nd half and made some very un-Stampeder-like mistakes. Missed passes and bad giveaways, probably could put them ahead of Ottawa, but can't reward a loss with a higher ranking. 7 .Toronto - No game is better than the performance the Als or Riders put forward. 8. Montreal - Ok, so they erased a 17 point deficit, but their defence was terrible. Still, the offence they generated gives them more hope than they had a week ago, so going forward they have to feel better than Saskatchewan feels today. 9. Saskatchewan - Without the dumb roughing penalties the Cats gave them, they may not have moved downfield at all. Maybe not quite that bad, but still went through 3 QBs and only put up 17 points. Have to be concerned going forward given what injuries they suffered.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired non-import offensive tackle Patrick Neufeld and a 4th round pick in the 2015 CFL Draft from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for import defensive end Alex Hall and a 2nd round pick in the 2014 CFL Draft.

I have that drive last year still queued up on my PVR from the Sask-Bomber playoff game, where the entire O-line is pushing the Sask D line down the field and Neufeld is expressing his love loudly for the manliness of the Sask defence. I can never get tired of that play.

Yeah one of the fastest Wils in the league, former big time track guy. Showed exception quickness, speed and strength before he got hurt. He was having a real coming out party hope its nothing serious.

I still recall being one win from hosting a playoff game or missing the playoffs entirely under Mike Kelly. I had faith on tap, back in those days... I believed in my core Kelly was a misunderstood genius who could lead us to the cup. I must have been crazier than he was.

There’s absolutely no truth to the rumour that QBs, when giving themselves up on a running play, will be instructed to flap their arms like a chicken..ala Jeff Hecht, in order to show they’re downing the play.

If DC did that in a Bomber Uniform- I would have cursed him. He has issues- he always has. But, to Be fair though- DC is absolutely wonderful to the fans and is ALWAYS willing to go all out for the fan experience. I totally respect him for that. I wouldn't want him to change anything about himself. I hope one day he climbs out of his dad's shadow and Just be ok with being best DC that DC can be. It's not disrespect, it's the reality of football. They currently have 6 Natl. players for 3 jobs on the O-line, how many can they afford to keep happy long-term? Unless they increase the ratio along the O-line they'll have to pare down next off-season. Ignoring injury concerns, Neufeld is the oldest and the highest paid of the 6, Desjarlais, Eli and Speller stand in line. You don't need these to see the future.....but they sure help.

Honest question. Do you think that the o-line is likely to regress and get worse over time? Or, as they build familiarity, are they likely to get better and more cohesive?

I can not, for the life of me, understand why the Jets would actively try and trade one of their best players on one of their best contracts right now........ I mean, if someone calls and offers you the world, that's one thing. But to actively SHOP Ehlers around? Why on earth......?

It's what happens when you start to develop solid depth, have guys that can push the back half of your talent pool and legitimately push for playing time. The drop off just isn't as huge as it has been in years past because we've taken the long view in how we manage our roster (and draft).

I was surprised that Hecht didn't get a taunting penalty there. I expect that Carter's been told not to react overtly to any slight because the refs are watching him.

I agree with the Winnipeg choice and the bottom 3 but the rest are confusing to say the least. Nothing but this season to go on, how do you rank Ottawa at 6 and Calgary at 2 or the Ticats behind the Lions?

I'm not sure how they put Calgary ahead of Edmonton. Yes, they didn't look good but better than Calgary.

I would rather live a decade with Mike Kelly as the Bomber coach than a single season with Tim Burke. That 2009 team beat some quality teams and at his best Bishop was electrifying -- he had a couple 400+ yard games down the stretch where he was hurling the ball all over the damn field and simply couldn't be stopped. Plus you had the big Fred Reid game in there too. Sure Kelly was a psycho but his teams put up a fight, unlike Burke's.

I couldnt and still dont understand how that wasnt ruled a TD on the review. Head shaker.
