  3. Blown 3rd period leads in games 1, 2 & 5 did the Jets in, the same problem that dogged them in the regular season. How does a team go from best in the league at closing out games last year, with the same personnel on D, to the worst in just a season? I think some of the young guys are tired of watching some of vets blow their assignments with no consequences. Just my 2 cents worth on the possible locker room issues.

  7. I think they seriously underestimated how good Anson Mount was going to be as Pike (which is silly since any of us that watched Hell on Wheels already knew Anson Mount was awesome). He along with a few others made this season enjoyable, but I really had a hard time understanding the overall plot of the season. It got very convoluted towards the end. I am curious and will watch season 3 in the 31st century. But these first two seasons felt more like Trek nostalgia with a modern twist (updated weird looking Klingons! Terrans!, Spock! Section 31! The Enterprise! Number One! etc etc) than telling a proper story arc leading to the huge time jump (and series shift) for season 3. And the the whole "lie about the fate of Discovery to Starfleet and forget about them " angle felt like a cheap ploy to the fanboys complaining how ST Disco didn't fit in the known Star Trek universe. There ya go! That's why Spock never mentions Burnham to Kirk or why no one tried a spore drive to rescue Voyager from the Delta quadrant! They just all kept their mouths shut! Ok then. Like I said I enjoyed the season for the most part. Amazing effects and great acting kept me in it and will bring me back. Hopefully now that they aren't chained to previous existing Trek lore they can truly tell their own story next season.

  10. Well to be fair even with the jets playing poorly they beat the Blues if not for their goalie. I think what we’re all upset about is not a lack of talent. But last nights game is very telling of the leadership and mental strength and coaching. All three flunked. I don’t really care they the jets have only three picks this year. That was the price of trying to compete and we can afford it. Lots of talent. Still deep. Just need to exchange a few parts.

  11. Start with eliminating the dressing room problems.. Hendricks was brought back cuz there were problems in the room. Likely due to ice time distribution.. And Maurices refusal all year to break up 55 and 26, who i suspect might be part of the internal issues. Wheeler im saying, always calling out the kids but floating the last half of the year. Think theres a divide between the old boys club and the new young core. Doesnt matter how poor they played.. They were always together. Tells me 26 likely runs the room... Maurice certainly doesnt. Interesting leah hextall tweet after the blues 3rd goal Coaching and leadership

  16. I like him. I think he’s a good coach. But you have to. You really do. In a market like this you can’t say this is okay. Maurice (and the rest of the staff) have to go. Chipman has to eat the salaries

  17. Don't care if a car fender was coaching this team. Players need to show some jam. Outshot 15-1, that period

  21. Every review and what I recall from the show itself said 30-31 century. But they did say it wasn't certain. https://www.space.com/star-trek-discovery-season-2-episode-14.html https://screenrant.com/star-trek-discovery-season-2-ending-future-explained/2/

  22. IDK that was a poorly managed Leafs team from 2005 to 2012 - debating whether or not to rebuild & overpaying for talent. It's pretty hard to judge any coach they employed in that era.

  24. Not bringing back Anson Mount to play Pike next season is a huge mistake. I'd also not feel bad if Discovery was somehow destroyed & the surviving or remaining crew merged with Pike's Enterprise & he took over as the new permanent Captain. There'd have to be a place for Saru but Number 1 is there. Anyway, it won't be happening anyway. Letting Mount go will form a huge vacuum. It's already apparent. They had a good thing going with Mount's Pike & poof he's gone.

  25. Did we need insight on Sulu & Checkhov in TOS? They just drove the ship, too. They both became beloved characters. So, I'd say yes.

  26. Am I the only one who has trouble following the storyline on each episode? A day or 2 later, I honestly can't tell you what happened. Discovery is the only show I have this problem with. The special effects are fantastic but there's so much going on that I find it hard to keep up. I wish they'd simplify the plot lines. Or slow the series down a bit for the benefit of viewers. Star Trek was always about social commentary & getting to really know the characters & we get very little of that with Discovery. Other than Burnham & Spock. IMO, I think that is what happens when the writers only have 13 episodes to get a very complicated storyline as well as complex characters in to a complete season. I think if they had 22 episodes the series would look totally different & have a different feel to it.

  28. First half or so was good. It feels like the story got away from the writers. They asked for an extra episode because they couldn’t finish it in time. Luckily for them cbs agreed. Show looks great. Very well acted. Writing has been underwhelming.

When I heard the opponent, I was underwhelmed. It felt like an easy pick and maybe they were hoping they would have had someone else signed by now. Then I watched that promo vid! So well done, I went from zero interest to really looking forward to it.

  30. So i am reading in the Sun now it was our schedule since March is why our team is not as good??? Maurice saying there was no gas left in the tank but made no changes from last game, to put in some fresh players ??? Excuses is what i am reading....

  31. am I reading this correctly? A top 5 list that doesn't include A New Hope? So basically They're all good except I really hated The Last Jedi and Solo was just a useless movie that I found boring and uninteresting. So those two suck, the rest are fine. Yeah even the prequels. They're not the greatest things ever and they got lots of cringe in them, but they're way way better than the **** that Rian Johnson smeared on the screen with his attempt at subverting expectations. What an asshat that guy is.

  34. Too much jumping the dots and feather dusting by a lot of our forwards. We also have no apparent system for clearing the D zone, against a heavy forecheck

  38. This team seems so soft compared to last season and before. We seem to avoid hitting anyone and seem to have zero urgency at going for the puck in the corners and in our end. We used to fly around and hit guys which generated mistakes from the opposition which we would capitalize. It feels like everyone is just standing around and staring and waiting for the puck. Only lime that shows any urgency is Tanev and Lowry.

  41. Impeachment... So... what do they do? Does congress use what is in the Mueller report to start impeachment proceedings (cuz there is MORE than enough for that) and do what is the right thing and "cleansing the office... and restoring honor and integrity to the office.”. Kind of like do you constitutional duty and protect the office. or... Hold off Impeachment proceeding because it is politically disadvantageous to do so. Democrat controlled congress starts and passes impeachment articles... republican controlled senate and cocaine mitch quash it because they are ******* cowards and it's party over country with those folks... and trump claims complete vindication and boosts his chances for re-election... holding off impeachment proceedings and let that hing over the rest of his presidency and boost the chances of a democratic win for POTUS and thus removing him from office that way- literally by the people. interesting scenario for the Democrats... kind of damned if they don't (not doing their job in congress) damned if they do ("exoneration" by the cowards in the senate). At least one 2020 candidate weighed in and took a stance: "There are times when it's beyond politics, when it is a point of principle to stand up and say, no president can do this. Because it matters." she's not wrong.

    US Politics

it's not about Hillary losing, it's about the criminality of Trump. It's about holding the elite and politicians to account for their actions. Especially as a Canadian I don't really give a **** who wins an election in the states, their system is bullshit anyway when a choice between 2 people can have the person who receives less votes win the presidency anyway, but this is all about seeing justice done. The Democrats lost the election themselves choosing Hillary as their nominee despite how utterly un-electable she was as president. She might have been qualified and a popular choice withing the party, but the general public was not going to pick her. Her image was just so poor. However that doesn't change the fact that Trump is a wannabe mob boss who is compromised and committed crimes and needs to be held accountable. I question Democrats are going to do the right thing here for political reasons, and we know the GOP will put party over anything else and protect Trump, but the Democrats in congress need to impeach Trump just so that no one else is allowed to get away with it. Next time it might not be a bumbling buffoon like Trump.

  43. How would that even work? The AAF season was like 10 games. Buy the contract now they are playing 18 games? The contracts are also USD. The players would have no obligation to go along with it either. They aren't property.

  45. I would personally put Wolitarsky in the above average category. I believe he had the 4th most yards of any Canadian receiver despite playing on a low passing volume team and field side wideout. With the move to slot I see him as a 1000 yard guy this year. Probably a better receiver than any current American we have aside from Darvin.

  46. And a typical response. Firstly, you should name the below average players you seem to think we have. AND Try to relate why the players are slotted where they are in the list mentioned. Average includes those who are slightly below and slightly above ‘average’. They could go either way. Hence “or better” . Surely, you can see the difference between the lists and why some are not included in the top list. Someone like Gray. Starts at least as average, but could easily be better. So....let’s see your list
