You should read my post again. You don''t seem to have understood it. My quotes were not from Israel, Iran, they were from world body in charge of nuclear technology, and from the American National intelligence estimate.

  15. I don't see any of those leagues lasting. The interest in football in the States has dropped since XFL 1.0 and the average age of a football fan is getting older and older. I'd assume older folks would have zero interest in the XFL or AAFL. I'd be amazed if any of these leagues make it to a 3rd season.

    The Star Trek Thread!

TNG used a timelines only a couple of time. One, Picard being kidnapped by the Borg & was assimilated. The timeline was Picard needing a break to emotionally & physically recover. So, what does he do? He went back to France to be hounded by his older brother for leaving the family behind when he joined Starfleet. After that, his assimilation was only mentioned a few times. I never understood why the writers would have an episode going back to see his brother's family knowing he'd have to put up with his jerk brother bad behaviour. To me, a badly written & senseless episode. The other where Spock attempts the reconciliation of the Vulcans & Romulans.

  21. and in my decade of paying attention to the league I kind of noticed that even if the best player on a team is out the team can still manage quite well

  22. I agree. I could handle some "slower" episodes of Discovery with more room to breath. But the episodes that referenced past events or had an impact on everything were always the best. Which is what DS9 did the best. And what Voyager did the worst (since every episode they'd get beat up and reset everything at the end). When TNG did Best of Both Worlds and followed that up with Picard going home, it was totally out of the norm for that show and awesome!

  24. Well fans didnt like Enterprise regardless. The choice to do a season long arc didnt help matters but the ratings were declining anyway. I hated the Xindi arc because I thought it was just a boring and poorly told story. DS9 did serialized story-telling way better. Discovery is similar to DS9 but without the "filler" or "stand alone" episodes. But thats also because DS9 had a lot more episodes per season given the standards of TV at the time.

So you'd rather that in get light at 4 am and dark at 8 or 9 pm in the summer? I'd prefer if we stayed on DST year-round so it's not dark by 5 pm in the winter..

  31. Probably the only reason he signed in the AAF was because he could get a shot at playing DB. I imagine that he believes his only NFL pathway is at DB. I would hope he's prepared to move on from that at this point.

Its what they should have done but they've made such a mess of it...there is no subtly to WWE at all and now they're cramming the idea of the sympathetic babyface Becky down our throats when what the fans want is a bad ass Becky. Suddenly, they have Ronda threatening to shoot on people, threatening Becky on twitter, Hunter dropping "real" names, Braun answering to "isnt this all fake"...like for **** sake. That never works and is WCW level bad. When Hunter mentioned Flair's real name, the air just came right out of the fans' sails.

  40. Jovon Johnson gets my vote for the sole reason that his return was part of one of the best Bomber comebacks I ever witnessed on Thanksgiving weekend 2010. My girlfriend and I ended up going to the game on a whim, and after that ended up getting season tickets the following year in 2011 and haven't looked back since. Just a fantastic player all-round.

  41. That pizza promotion had zero to do with the league. The CFL forced them to shut it down as they weren't given permission for it.
    1 point
  42. Don't laugh at the AAF about that. When the Grey Cup was in Toronto 2 years ago, there was a pizza chain in Hamilton giving away Grey Cup tickets with every pizza order. Having the Grey Cup in Toronto with their (lack of) fanbase made the CFL a laughing stock. That city should never get a Grey Cup again after that.

  43. I'm low key loving the Beaulieu trade. I always liked that kid and hoped he would develop into the 1st-Round pick talent people thought he would be. Not sure he'll ever get there, but he's looked solid so far...exactly what they've needed with the injuries they have on the back end.

  44. With Morrissey out and Myers on the second unit, Trouba is the default. Chariot would have a more dangerous shot back there, but with Laine playing at the faceoff dot and not covering the point or securing wide shots off the wall well, I think Maurice sees the danger of a possible short-handed two-on-one and wants a reliable d-man to handle the counter-attack rather than another pinching guy like Myers or defensive liability back there. With Myers on, he can count on Ehlers' or Perrault's speed and Little's defensive-mindedness to cover on a backcheck. Although I am impressed with Niku's offensive vision, foot movement and puckhandling inside the other team's zone.

Syncrude & Husky were sure whining. And still are. They liked it at $10 a barrel as they were buying back the refined product at a huge discount & then selling it at world price. Meanwhile, producers were still suffering & job losses were everywhere.

  47. On an unrelated, hilarious note... a family in Nova Scotia currently faces allegations of tax fraud because a CRA auditor flagged some of the claimed expenses as fictitious, they were paid to a "Vandelee Industries". This is the same name as the fictitious company setup by George Costanza in an episode of Seinfeld. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/cape-breton-cra-fraud-case-1.5032725
