  1. As I explained to the Rider folks, training camp started in June in ’10. It starts 2.5 weeks earlier this year as the schedule moved up. If that's the case the equivalent closing window on coaching hires would be last week.

  2. I'm curious as to why you think this. Goossen has been so involved in the community, you'd think it would be more likely to see him back.

  8. Well, I hear that Lapo is steaming mad. He plans to sulk and deep six the Bomber O, this season, out of spite. . He is also going to forgo personal grooming and wear Green and White on the sidelines in protest. Paul plans to frequent Lyle E. Style's bookstore, and post regularly on RF, to get out his side of the story. I know all this...because unlike Rider fan information....my sources are impeccable.

  9. In any event Jones leaving has made a bit of a mess of things. Left Sask in a bit of a lurch and subsequently the Riders are causing grief amongst other teams by wanting their coaches. No good. Find a coach Riders and leave other teams alone at this point in time.

  10. 👁‍🗨 Happy that the Bombers have extended Anthony Gaitor. He’s been a bit of a pleasant surprise to me with his play this past season. 👁‍🗨 Surprised that the media keeps pumping the Regina-LaPolice story. Jamie Nye and now Glen Suitor. - "The league office needs to take this out of the hands of the clubs and the whim of the General Manager." Whim? Not a surprise coming from the man who can tell what players are thinking when they re involved in a game. 👁‍🗨 Jeff Hamilton- “For those fighting for Paul LaPolice, I get it. I get that it's a great opportunity. I, too, believe it's a bit unfair. But the #Bombers made a decision that was best for their team, something LaPo does every day, which often leaves a player upset. It's the business you're in.” Truth.

  12. Lapo held hostage. Day 4. The clouds have passed and we're headed east. We've grabbed the map that Cleetus Jr got with his kids meal at Humpty's. He's coloured most of it but we can still make out where the Saskatchewan ends and Manitoba begins. We'll need to avoid the giant bison that dominates the western portion Manitoba. I just need to put my teeth in and then the tractors roll. Hold on Lapo, we're a comin' for ya!

  13. Nope. Dallas Eakins fault. :-) Sorry couldn't resist. I have no sympathy for the Oilers as growing up having to face their power house teams. They can wait another 20 years collecting first round draft picks on the way. It's our time now.

  14. Hardrick is also the best RT in the league.

  15. At some point we will lose one/some of our drafted OLs. Hoping it's not this year though. I'm not really concern however knowing that the pipeline is not bare as it used to be. But I hope Walters managed to keep both Goossen and Chungh. Even if it's at the expense of Neufeld. I would love to see a Bryant-Gray-Goossen-Chungh-Hardrick OL.

It is hilarious to see how little Trump actually knew about the workings of the US government. He seems to have imagined the president as some sort of king rather than one of 3 equal branches. Turns out that when you actually have to make a deal rather than trying to bully people smaller than you Trump isn't such a good deal maker.

He must feel like a scolded dog having to eat **** from Pelosi over a stupid shutdown of his own making. I read the Dems are preparing a counter offer where they will agree to provide the funding Trump wants (or even more) conditional on it not being spent on a wall and they get certain concessions. He's going to flop.

  19. I dont get where this so upset he is going leave the second the season is over and straight to Regina bull crap. The unknown source said he was "very upset". So how upset was he? Upset like you get very upset when a child does something they shouldn't and you get over it in 10 seconds. Or very upset like he is going to mail it in for 12 months. They take things so out of context over there is unbelievable. Rightfully so he may have been upset or even very upset. But I really dont think its life altering upset and he is going to sabatoge the season and be disgruntled etc. Give it up Priders.

  24. It would also be a huge mistake to overpay for NI-OL, when we have depth at that position. We still have holes to fill but we can't re-sign Goossen and Chungh at any cost. I want them back but we have several priorities to make this team whole.

  25. I think BJ Cunningham would be a good target. Probably won't make what the top guys in fa will, but has the potential be very good as part of a functioning offense. Eugene Lewis would be another interesting addition. If you can be even modestly productive with the Als, there may be a lot of untapped potential.

  28. So the Bombers said no to the Riders on LaPolice, and according to RFs LaPo is pissed because the Bombers held him back. The Riders just interviewed Dickenson. What if they tell him no?

  29. If anything the league has been moving more towards contracts mattering and not going on the opposite direction. There was a situation with Noel Thorpe a couple years back where he was forced to return to Montreal or receive compensation. If memory serves me correct. Riders are just upset to not be receiving special treatment and not being able to buy the most expensive football ops in the league anymore. I’m pretty much over it.

  30. If Goosen and Chung are back I think we have a real opportunity to go with 4 non imports on the offensive line. They should let Gray settle in a bit and wait for an injury to Hardrick or Bryant and then try it out. I’d prefer for this season to give Gray opportunities at guard and play Neufeld at Tackle if such an opportunity arrives. But long term I think it will be Gray.

  31. DISCO 201 was great. Some actors just own the role and Anson does with Pike. Stewart on the View today said he would be back on board the Enterprise.

  32. Yup, agree with most of your points. I like the guy playing Sarek, but agree with you that he needs to be more cold and logical. He's acting more like how I think Spock should act. I love Michelle as well, but she's getting her own show so I wish they'd make the story line involve new characters we haven't seen before instead of bringing back old characters all the time. That's what I liked about the old series. They were always fresh and different.

  33. I enjoyed it over-all. Thought it came across fully baked as opposed to last season's early episodes that were clearly hampered by the change in show runner. The one thing, the show will always be hurt by the lousy premise that Michael started the war when she really didnt. That was something they just were never able to make right last season. Better to move on and forget it. The negatives: - Portrayal of Sarek. I think the writers' reverence for the character hurts the portrayal. He was always portrayed as cold, emotionally distance and a bit of an *******. But we see none of that. What was good about TOS was the moments that showed us he was more than that (his obvious love for Amanda, his confronting Kirk over Spock's katra, his approval of Spock's friends etc) were special *because* of how cold he was. The JJ films made this same mistake. Its almost like they're trying to retcon Spock's issues with his father from Sarek to Michael. We really need to see some more coldness from him. - Humor. Dial it back just a bit. My advice to them is, ask yourself if a professional military would behave that way before airing a "goofy" scene. In particular Im talking about Tilly's first scene on the bridge where she compliments....was it communications? And then back and forth on the pods. At least on the pods, Pike interjected to tell them to knock it off and they did (similar to STID where Spock & Uhura were bickering during an important away missions but they ignored Kirk's order to knock it off). - Pods. Yeah....I know some fans are raving about it as an exciting sci fi scene. I sort of glazed over a bit. But Im not a fan of adding crazy elements to something for dramatic effect...like in STID when Kirk & Khan are hurtling themselves through space from one ship to another and have to hit a tiny little mark...thats not dramatic enough so add in asteroids. Same thing here. A bit too insane. But not bad...just, hard to care about for me personally. And you knew the blue shirt (ha!) was going to die. Positives: - Humor. Other then above, it was well done. Tilly is very charming. Dont force it. I didnt mind her interactions with Pike either but I would have liked a scene or line where she expresses admiration for him so that her super awkwardness was a bit more grounded. But the episode was long. She's an ensign on command track. He's a legendary Captain and who happens to be heroic, charming & handsome. Perfect foil for Tilly but I'd like to hear it. We KNOW he's a legend because of canon but Tilly would be the perfect character for us to see through her eyes. Almost have her say "everything is going to be okay. Captain Pike is here." - Cinematic feel. Amazing. It looks and feels like a movie. The SFX are top notch. The wide screen is great. How it's directed. Cinematography. Everything. Star Trek has never looked so good. Oh and more traditional sound effects were added too...the background ship sounds and the door swoosh on Enterprise etc. Also seems the space shots have been toned down as far as the overly blue, foggy look goes. Looks more like traditional Star Trek (rendered by modern SFX). - Acting. Pike has been a great addition. The rest are top notch as always. Even when given little to do (Stamets) they hint at a lot of depth. They just have to reconcile how the senior bridge crew have so far done little compared to the stars who mainly arent bridge crew. And it seems they will by giving the bridge officers more to do. Some good actors there too. They love love love Michelle so she's here to stay (especially with her own show coming).

  34. Well, has anyone else watched the first episode of Discovery? Was pretty good. I like the small amounts of humor they through in. Sometimes though, it feels so dramatic at times because of the way they film it, or because of their grim facial expressions that I'm sometimes like..."did they just make a joke? Yes that was a joke...hey that was pretty funny actually". I liked the guy who plays Pike. Them going through the minefield of rocks with those little glass bubbles kind of lost it for me though...had to really suspend disbelief for that one. Otherwise it was an overall decent episode. Not liking that they're bringing back Michelle Yeoh. I liked her character, but it just feels like they're going back to her too soon. Move the story forward. Stop bringing back old characters. But I also haven't seen the episode yet so maybe my mind will change.

I am born and raised in Pinawa....My grandfather was one of the original 5 from Atomic Energy of Canada that came and designed the townsite and all that. My dad was a firefighter for AECL for 30 years. Suffice to say, I spent most of my childhood fishing and golfing. Between Pinawa, and our family cabin at Victoria Beach, I was extremely spoiled with where I got to grow up...
