  1. Looking through our free agent list I saw Mike Miller's name and thought...if we can't get this guy signed it will be a bad omen. Heart and soul player (with talent) that wants to be here. Really happy with this.

  2. Stubler will be good for Claybrooks...it's who he has based his systems off of and learned under..and what better mind and person to run your system as a new Head coach so you can focus more on the Head Coach duties initially...and know your defense will be handled by probably the best qualified person who knows it...smart move

  6. Dont forget Voyager VI is eventually discovered by a machine race and sent back to earth. Along the way it assimilates everything it can until becoming sentient and demanding to speak to its creator and inadvertently threatening the world. It is only satisfied when a selfless astronaut gives his life to merge with the machine. This hero is listed as missing in action but time would reveal the awful truth - that this merging of man and machine would create a new race of evil single-minded beings known only as The Borg.

  8. Or BC wants Bighill and we can land Singleton.

  9. Hopefully Stubler and Claybrooks can lure Alex Singleton to BC.. That would be hitting two birds with one stone. Weakens Calgary and strengthens Winnipeg as Bighill's likelihood of returning would be high.

  11. events like these haven't happened for a long time.... it's more about festivals now, like a Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Coachella..... its easier on the bands to go one place and let the fans come to them. I doubt we see anything like an Edgefest / Summersault ever again, which is unfortunate. Its just the nature of the music business now though! As far as attendance / ticket sales.... if Wade is giving away tickets, that's his deal and will be up to him to explain & justify. To me, if he's "donating" to key corporate sponsors who are spending advertising dollars with the club every season, I'm fine with it. It's better to have more people coming through the building and spending money on concessions than it is to have empty seats. Now as a season ticket holder, I don't really like to see people getting free tickets, but they need to try and generate extra revenue somehow I guess.

  12. He averaged 82 catches and 843 yards his last three seasons. He was not just hanging around. His second last season had 102 catches and 1136 yards.

The Jets moving back is a significant factor. Prior to Jets 2.0, I tried to be a Moose fan, but got thrown off by the call-ups to the NHL. Seemed like it was a forgone conclusion that you would lose your top scorer, best defenceman, and your goalie to the parent club. I had no allegiance to the Vancouver Canucks, so it was like you were losing your top talent as the playoffs approached. Now I see it differently, as I'm a Jets fan, so my perspective is different. Back then I was one of the people who wanted a WHL club instead of the IHL-AHL team. Now I see the Moose as an affordable way to watch the future Jets.

Of course. There are obviously going to be up and down years in terms of secondary revenue streams.

  23. I'm a big Nik Lewis fan. Even when he got old and fat, he still found ways to contribute. If he can bring that attitude to his players, he'll be a good coach.

I used to see the Kingston Frontenacs in OHL. The old barn in K-town was horrendous but the new (ten years ago) K-Rock Centre was awesome. Lots of fun.

I'm strongly considering buying season tickets to the Dub. I can afford to take both of my boys with the cheap tickets and free (or really cheap) parking. Right now, that's almost $80 (maybe more) for me and my boys, including snacks, tickets and parking to a Moose game.

I personally would choose the Dub over A, if it was me.....I'm a believer that a Dub team is more detrimental to the A than the other way around.

  32. Not a fan of Nik Lewis's personality, but I sure loved watching a pot bellied receiver still balling out there. Reminds me of me, and my friends, playing oldtimer beer league hockey when every once in a while us old pot bellied pork rind eaters would use our smarts and beat down some young bucks. Puts a little air in your step after.

Those are great points and, I believe, why it's been so successful. But Jeff Hamilton was making the point the other day, that a WHL team could add a lot of local talent and really cut into the Moose market. He made a compelling case of how much cheaper it will be (cheaper tickets, cheaper parking, cheaper concessions), while still providing an exciting, fun experience for all ages of hockey fans. I'm buying into his theory that this pushes the AHL out of the market, as a more affordable option for families.

Well, taking a top job in this administration....and avoiding getting tangled up in some form of illegality.....could be a tricky business. Plus you would have to shine Trump's boots, get his Cheetos, and praise Fearless Leader, at every opportunity. Besides already a growing number of books about this crap. You would also have to master regurgitating the lying, deflections and spinning, as well as the new linguistics......"Alternative facts, fake news, truth isn't truth, and what you see and hear is not happening."

  38. absolutely...and he played Safety for awhile, too. With SAM backer being a glorified DB, I'd be inclined to have him with them, rather than the LBs...

  40. I will have an extra linebacker (2 inside/middle, 2 outside) and will also have 4 linemen (2 outside, 2 inside) so as not to have to decide 4-3 or 3-4. Our defence will have an extra player (as will the offence, with a RB, FB, 2 slotbacks, 2 WR and a 5th receiver). And no, I'm not concerned about ratio.

  43. The Bombers lack of success is an aberration. What we've been through just doesn't happen to other CFL teams. The only other team without recent success is Hamilton & we have 9 years on them.
