  1. I don't come around here very much anymore but I'm just wondering - are you always this annoying? If yes, why?

  3. It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed pretty far away but it didn't impair our enjoyment. I've never sat that high at IGF but this seemed much further back. In fact, the entire upper deck was much further back. Seemed steeper too. IGF is feels more intimate overall. The rows go down super close to the field at Mosaic. Much lower than IGF. I would hate to sit in the front row because you wouldn't be able to see much. It was definitely quieter at Mosaic. Partly due to the cold weather (and having mitts on their hands) and partly, it seemed as though they were distracted. The crowd barely reacted to plays. Not sure why. Also, I didn't have many people behind me, so maybe it just seemed quieter. Just like IGF, the East Side sucks - it was filled with Rider fans. We were sheltered from the wind and covered, so stayed very comfortable all game. We dressed very warmly and had unzip our jackets a few times to cool down a bit. They seats were really narrow and seemed cheap. I was thankful, with all my warm gear on, that no one was sitting next to me or I would have felt way to squished. The screen at the south end is very large and clear. From our seats, we couldn't clearly see the screen in the north east corner. No biggie. Didn't really care for their announcer. He seemed bored. Their ramp to the upper levels was narrow. Honestly, I felt cramped because I'm used to IGF, but it's probably better that way. It would have cost them less and allowed for more room within the stadium. No on field shenanigans. They kept all their promotions in the stands. Not sure it matters, just an observation. The concourse on the upper East side was nice and wide. Lots of more room to move around. Also, when the sun was up, it made it seem much lighter up there. IGF seems really dark, day or night. But, a fan said to me when I made that observation, that it also created a big wind tunnel. The service was FARRRR better there. Much quicker and didn't seem confused with every order I made. I also observed that the staff were much older too. The concourses on the lower level were sheltered from the field, as has been mentioned lots, so you wouldn't be able to see the game from there. Hence, more people in seats. I prefer the social elements of IGF. Where IGF has all sorts of booths and stands that jet into the upper concourses, they have everything recessed. That makes things easier to move around but they didn't have tables to eat at. I'll take the Mosaic layout and space over the cramped feeling of IGF. They have a good beer menu. Tall boy Heinekens were on $10. They had Blue Moon beer advertised at $9/can but I paid $8. I don't remember much else, sorry. One bathroom on the upper East Side. Seemed really big but the line was slow at halftime. I prefer having multiple at IGF. But just like IGF, you have to constantly tell people that there are more toilets around the corner. Bus system is less efficient than IGF now. With the corridor, IGF has them beat. But, I would say their system is better than what we had before the corridor opened. They probably didn't love our "And that is another Winnipeg...First Down!" chant. But hey, it's was a fun way for us to connect with the other Bomber fans there. Again, though, I noticed how quiet their crowd was. Most importantly, the crowd was very friendly and fun. We had a great time and won't hesitate to go back. Tried really hard to be respectful. One or two fans tried to goad us but we just played it super friendly. EDIT: Forgot to add... Their scoreboard does not show team stats during the game. I found that annoying. IGF is not entirely reliable but it does update. Nothing at Mosaic and I missed it. I didn't want to pull out my phone to check the stats all the time.

  4. A quote from a Kirk Penton insider: Randy) Ambrosie has never once talked to a group of coaches about anything. Coaches will leave the league, and the quality of play will suffer. Young Canadian coaches will be hurt by the capping of the number of coaches on staff, so they will not be able to get quality control jobs and grow into position coaches. Someone should ask Ambrosie if he and his staff are going to match the 10 percent pay cut (Chris) Jones and the Riders took? Do some teams have too large of staffs? Yes, but work together to find a compromise with coaches and operations. This guy just is something else. Instead of trying to drum up football in Mexico, promote our players and game more here.

  5. .Riderfans types are attempting to paint themselves as the MOST victimized with league staff cuts . They are paying the price for undisciplined spending of OTHER teams. The. Most. Self-absorbed. Fanbase. On. Earth.

  6. The football operations salary cap is not part of the players salary cap. This June article from TSN explains the cap: I don't know if any other leagues do it.

  7. September 24, 1983. My very first live Bomber game, with my mom and dad. I grew up in the wilds of Northern Ontario so being in a crowd of 25,000 roaring partisans was something new and amazing to me. We beat the green riders 50-19. It was a perfect time to board the bomber bus because Dieter Brock had been traded the week before and the team was finally evolving from contender to champion. Nickie Hall started and got a big cheer when he was introduced, but he got dinged up so Tom Clements finished. Willard Reaves ran completely wild, something around 175 yards. I remember vividly the giant flame that shot up out of the stands when the Roughriders scored. As an 11-year-old, I thought it was super cool, but as an old guy now I can't believe that was actually a thing that happened, it looked pretty dangerous. Since then I have been lots of places and seen lots of things, but I still feel like a little kid when the blue and gold take the field -- doesn't matter if it's Clements and T-Jones or Harris and Bighill or even Goltz and Muamba.

  9. I went to Mosaic for the first time on Sunday. It was nice. Beautiful even. I think IGF's roof covers a bit more of the stands. I felt it was comparable to IGF. Probably depends on which fan you are (Bombers or Riders) that would determine which stadium you prefer. IGF stadium announcer is way better. The Rider fans honestly were respectful to me and my buddy. A couple of fans even shook our hands afterwards and wished us luck. Oh yeah, one more thing...IGF was definitely louder - although I haven't been at Mosaic for a LDC game yet - but IGF crowd is louder.

  10. 02 or 03. Blink is banged up so mike sellers take most of the carries. last drive of the game running down the clock and he just trucks through the entire RR D for 6 or 7 carries. Pushes the pile, loses his helmet and keeps on trucking.

They have to support CNN cause they don't want precedent set which can be used against them.

  12. For me, it's between this past Sunday and 2016 Labour Day. 2017 Canada Day (New Mosaic opener) is right up there too.

  23. 1982 Labour Day game. We won 36-35. Even in the 1980's when the Riders were crap, they still always seemed to have our number on Labour Day. I believe this was the game where Bob Cameron went to punt the ball into a stiff breeze and the ball went up and then flew back over his head, landing five yards behind him. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that again.

  26. And maybe this is true, and good on him if he went home because his wife has cancer. He probably can play a lot longer in Sweden without getting injured, and that makes a ton of sense. I do think Niku is the future, and it was time to get a spot for him open on the team.

  28. For most of my young life the Bombers were in the East so outside of the LDC and BB there were not a lot of meaningful wins against them... with that said, it's hard to top being the first team to win a playoff game in their new stadium... probably just the recency effect... the only other one that comes close is the BB in 2013... completely meaningless game and that year's squad was one of the worst Bombers teams I've ever witnessed... but that pathetic Bomber team beating the Riders in the first ever BB at IGF was pretty sweet too...

Haha, I already posted the response where you were wrong. Period. If there was video of Trump clubbing a baby you'd find some way to blame the baby and call it self defense. You're a naked Trump lover but dont have the courage to admit it. You're perfectly entitled to embrace the alt right, white nationalist agenda and everything that goes a long with it but its telling that you wont admit it.

  34. I think 6 is ok... there are currently 9x7 starters = 63... 10 teams with 6 starters each is 60 starters league-wide... realistically the union is never going allow the league to go from 63 starting jobs for Canadians down to 50...

  35. I feel this is going to be a difficult game and if our special teams give up the same field position to Bo Levi Mitchell as they did to Bridge in the last game we will be in trouble. We need to ensure we lock down our special teams, especially on kick off and punt returns, so that we can give our defense a chance and in turn give better field position to our offense. We can't plan on outscoring their team if we are consistently losing the field position battle.

  36. We had that in when they introduced the challenge. It was abused by dickinson. I swear, their offense employed a dedicated receiver to draw a PI- how many times was there a challenge by dicky for a PI that was totally away from the play? And sure enough- it was a receiver running down a DB. what an ass
