  1. I'm said Idiot. I have it in my signature to remind me that you are not a voluntarily obtuse assclown-troll who posts in a manner akin to a snide-ass backhand complimenting, fact denying, finger-in-ear shouting, dumb cluck. It's there to remind me that you are human and a bit steadfast in your own convictions with your own take on facts.

  3. Not from me- Every time I get pissed at his play during a game, I recall the hit he laid on the manny show and he is forgiven...

  4. I wouldn't say that... he did more good then bad with us. I'd say someone like Odell Willis in his prime was more of a penalties outweigh the performance....

  5. Flanders won't be replacing him why can't we all move on from that? We should be excited to see Tompkins in action !

  6. Don't base an import position's production based on the previous player. Throw what Bowman did out the window. A Tompkins or Washington...heck even a Lankford over the long haul will be far more productive and garner far more attention from a defense than a Lafrance..Augustine (both of whom aren't receiver options)..Peterman or a Simonese...tho a Simonese on the rail would be the best route to take if you went 3 Canucks. Playing 2 rookie Canadians with Demski makes us weaker....and thats not even debatable...also...you just lost your depth if one gets hurt...and as the old adage goes...every rookie you start you are going to lose a game...so with Sayles..Cooper..Streveler already having started thats our 3 losses..we don't need the extra couple in a tough west division Peterman and Simonese ...and really Lafrance havn't proven jack yet so not sure why that would be considered an upgrade. And honestly I think Augustine is a better back than Lafrance...but thats just my opinion

  7. Pretty sure it was Dickenson in Calgary who was abusing the Illegal Contact challenges. Had a receiver away from the play run over a defender on every play so that he had it in his back pocket if a pass went incomplete.

  8. Nichols...Streveler...Harris. Damn fine players who wouldn't be nearly as effective without a monster O-line leading the way. Not taking away from the QBs or Harris of course but our O-line has been dominant so far this season. Fun to watch those boys work every game.

  11. Great player, great leader... but expect at least one offside every game... and one RTP every game or two...

  12. Well I for one was hoping it would be Thompkins who got the reps when Bowman was dealt. Felt he showed some good things in the pre-season including the penalty he took on the block coming back to the line. Yeah it's a penalty, but you know a guy who is willing to do that is not going to slack off when he gets a chance.

  13. Lankford never had fans to begin with. The majority of us have been commenting on his mediocre skills as a football player since we signed him.

  14. I compared their stats and you're right. Despite Demski's smaller sample size as a ball carrier/rusher, the numbers say that Flanders is not "far superior".
    2 points
  15. But that's not really what we're discussing .. it doesn't matter if Flanders is the best direct replacement for Harris (which I'd argue he isn't given that Harris is a NI and we have both LaFrance and Augustine on the roster as well), we're looking to replace Bowman's "production"

  16. I'm sure Bluto can pop in and offer several excuses as to why the "hundreds of thousands" of Argo fans aren't able to grace the team with their presence. Sadly, the one reason that holds the most truth: "Toronto does not give a flying fig about the Argos or the CFL" won't likely make it to his list.

  17. Yet, on a per carry basis, Demski is among the league leaders.

  21. I'd settle for Rod Black being able to distinguish between Trevor Harris and Travis Lulay. Dude called Harris "Lulay" like six times last weekend. Need to sub Kate Beirness in for Rod Smith in the studio full-time and the get Rod S. and Dunigan out as a regular full-time broadcast team. That'd go a long way towards fixing up the TSN broadcasts.

  22. It would be crazy to have Harris, Flanders and Demski all on the field at the same time. All can run, catch and block. You could run some crazy misdirection there, toss in Streveler in a package too. Real hard to defend.

  23. Anytime TSN has a sideline interview....I gear myself up for a imminent big play
    2 points
  24. They try to do much during the game. So tired of interviews starting between plays then continuing on during a play. I tune in for the football game, not the other stuff. Show me the damn game. Also the stupid camera angles or sideline shots are too long between plays as well. I want to see how the teams are lining up prior to the snap. Keep it simple and do the simple stuff well and people will be happy. Try to do too much and do a bad job at it, and they will piss people off.

  25. Just a minor question in this debate...for those pointing out the crowds from Jets games that have converged at P & M from time to time, won't those crowds go to True North Square when it's up and running instead of going to P & M?

  29. From the Coach's Show it sounds like O'Shea will be holding auditions to replace Bowman, he mentioned Lankford, Thompkins, Washington and Simonese. No mention of Petermann and doesn't sound like he would consider Flanders as a replacement as he's too similar in style to Demski and Harris.

Actually no, I haven't followed the debate but I did work in the city's planning dept. for two years and spent some time working in the Grain Exchange Building so I'm well aware of the issues surrounding that intersection.

  38. A chance to get ahead of the curve when it comes to the crossover. BC crapping themselves against Ottawa in the final moments was a huge help. This week they are on the bye and Toronto and Montreal are tied at 1-4.

  39. I'd assume Washington gets first crack at it...He looked good in the slot and coming across the middle and up through the flats. I bet in Bowmans first game he gets between 6-8 catches for 100+ yards too If they insert Lankford...I will puke and if I was one of Tompkins and Washington I would actually ask for my release cause of that...we know what Lankford is as a receiver and it's bottom teir

  46. TSN really bugs me - there are a lot of replays that just don't get shown. Not sure why they couldn't have shown what O'Shea was challenging there. Duane Ford made some comment about how he thought they should allow challenges for illegal contact on a receiver and then Rod Black just messed up the conversation as always. You would think though that O'Shea would know that illegal contact isn't challengeable. I didn't understand it myself.

  47. Okay, so my son is getting married later today. We're in Portland, Oregon & we just had a post wedding rehearsal party for our family & friends in our hotel room which has really turned into a hospitality room for everyone. I usually don't have a lot to drink anymore but I've had a few pops tonight. I'm not the partier I used to be but this evening I decided to let my hair down & just enjoy everything as a Dad. It was wonderful spending time with family & friends so far & I'm feeling pretty good right now.. LOL. My son & his fiancée met at Junior College in California in 2011 & have been together in a long distance relationship while both have lived all over North America ever since. He was an NCAA D2 qb & she was an All American softball pitcher They were able to make it work while both have lived apart in South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Northern California, Calgary, Seattle, Victoria & Kelowna. Now, the are finally together & will be living in the Seattle area. My son will be coaching qbs privately while doing stone masonry work (when he is able to work) while his wife works in the sports industry as a marketing rep for a large American sporting goods company. So proud of both of them & ecstatic they have finally tied the knot after 7 years. As I've embided tonight I promise to be on my best behaviour. Life is pretty damned good right now.
