  1. Past hour
  2. When a player walks you suspend him. Nothing more to it than that. You dont just let guys walk out of contracts or you would see guys just walking all over the league whenever the wind changes. If you want out you do it the right way and request your release while working your ass off. You take your ball and go home, you dont get to be a free agents. Elgersma is better at pitch and catch than Collaros. Good to know.
  3. All in all thought Elgersma was fine. His first pass was a bad drop. Kinda tells the story there.
  4. Today
  5. The only way for Elgersma to learn is thru mistakes. The learning curve is steep. Once he adjusts to the speed of the CFL game then he'll play a lot better. He'll have better days.
  6. For sure Elgersma is 24 years old. Stetson Bennet was throwing footballs in college until he was 26. Way too early to pass judgment, he certainly seems to have a good arm, and I like the way he keeps his eyes down field as he moves around in the pocket to create time, obviously my major problem with him was holding onto the ball too long but not an un common problem with young players. Lots to work on for sure but I’m not worried yet.
  7. I am a fan, so I obviously have my blue tinted glasses on. Trading Zach would need to accomplish more than a Madden trade where you’re giving up a guy with an 85 rating for a guy with a 88 rating. I do not think the team supported Zach properly the last couple of seasons and I do expect a certain amount of positive regression with the moves we made this year. As to the cap space, in the time of marketing money, I don’t think we’re handicapped in any way by Zach’s contract if we chose not to be. All that said, Brown and Alexander still exist in the world of potential. They have yet to prove themselves over a full season. VAJ is a guy I would have loved to trade for early in his career, but not one I’m giving up Zach for now. Arbuckle isn’t even in the same tier and probably isn’t a guy who can pick up where he left off with a new team.
  8. still trade for brown/alexander with ease. Significantly cheaper, will still be playing 2-3 years down the road, no signs of playing as bad as zach has the past two years. On top of that, vaj and arbuckle won’t play at a significantly lower level, are also much cheaper and will play significantly longer. We aren’t talking pennie’s under the cap either, we are talking big all star free agent difference. Blm and harris won’t play significantly longer, but have been significantly better over the past two years plus. I expect zach to be a good bit better this year. He will pass a couple of those guys in performance this year, if he stays healthy. By no means do i expect him to pass all those guys.
  9. Honestly the faj comparison ain't bad... just gotta hope he's not a raging douchebag like faj.
  10. Are you saying time to dust off the LaPolice playbook had made for Strev in his 2nd season with us :D
  11. He did fine for a rook in his first game. be fun to see him next week hopefully with better support. We do need a qb on the pr learning the system incase any one gets hurt though. Maybe some one cuts an interesting name, more likely it’ll be another rookie
  12. I don’t know what’s going on in his life so I can’t give him a hard time in leaving the team.
  13. Singer was pretty explosive. No other American receiver (outside of veterans) looked like they knew what the **** was going on out there.
  14. I'm not as down on the qb play as some. For elgersma he's got such limited pro experience, if he's got a decent head on his shoulders he can learn and improve. Rourke was pretty **** his first season in BC too. Perkins has some limitations but you can probably come up with a gameplan he was execute. If the Bombers can't establish a run game won't really matter who is at qb.
  15. I thought that was what that was, but didn't really believe that was what was meant, after a single, preseason game looking at two brand new qb's without starting receivers and other depth players fighting for roster spots. Really? We are now ready to parachute in MBT? Reminds me of the days when we would bring in Michael Bishop. Are we back to that?
  16. yeah he’s not as far along as smith, but mlber is way different and easier than sam. we need one more guy now. the options are about as ugly as always. mcleod bethel thompson
  17. Wow - Doug Brown not holding back on Wilson leaving the team prior to the first PS game. Can't say I disagree - may not like how things look, but why would you quit before you even have a chance to outshine the guys you believe are ahead of you? Another side note - DB and DT joking about broadcasting on scaffolding for the first time, getting sea-sick with the wind. Hilarious! Only in Saskatchewan...
  18. The law firm of Macleod, Bethel and Thompson.
  19. I change my mind.. that last throw succcked. Bring on the MBT!
  20. Denver Broncos might have lost Nuer Gatkuoth's number.
  21. Assuming you mean DT - he does do his best and made a number of corrections when needed. I like that. I didn't hear the hillbilly SSK colour guy after the first couple series as I was able to time the CJOB and video feed acceptably well.
  22. Agree witg these. Smith needs ti get reps cause all he does is make plays. Singer seems like the best option at receiver. Perkins you're going to have to work around his limited arm but he's got decent awareness out there.
  23. Connor Shay didn’t impress me. He didn’t accomplish much on any of his blitzes. Hooper and Pace got manhandled by the Riders 3rd string ol. Stuart was another guy who stood out as not good enough to be here. On the plus side Jaylen Smith looked good. Athletic and aggressive. Singer looks like a keeper. Jenkins looks like a starter. I think Perkins can be a decent backup.
  24. Yep, especially for game 1. Ill take that. Already a lot better qbing depth then weve seen since brown left. Elgersma gets points for mental toughness for me. Kid never wilted never showed frustration. it was really the depth of the OL and DL that wasnt great. Late DL depth too. OL, was good in pass pro most of the night. Not goot in the run game at all though. Im optimistic that with more of the starters in next game things will look a lot better. Saw great flashes at positions that we need. He does his best. Corrects when he gets the name wrong its tough with soo many guys on both teams but he did a real good job tonight for both sides plays.
  25. Stars, Singer, White, Smith, Jenkins, Dixon, Williams, Woodbey, Andrews, and Lidster. Honorable mention to Perkins, MCI, Wallace and Clercius. Goat horns / cut, half the wrs, Pace, and Elsbury for sure. Crunch of the game, MCI on kick cover. HH, Clintons pick 6 that was crazy impressive. Awe thats dirty, Reese with 2 horrible decisions on hits. Golden leg kick of the game, tie between the 67 yard punt through the air by Andrews and the 50 yard FG on his first attempt by lidster.
