  3. I'm not certain about that. Game 2 will be very very important.
  4. Both backup QBs showed glimpses. I liked Perkins as 2nd string game 1. He looked much more confident; did a good job moving around despite the pressure and generally looked more CFL ready. Elgersma certainly has the raw tools and showed good accuracy. I think we can be a bit patient with him. But who knows what preseason game 2 will hold. Should we legitimately be looking at Andrews for the punter position? Those punts were massive. And good positions too.
  5. Elgersma will be QB2. Lots of drops on easy catches by recievers.
  6. Tui didn't play much but he was not good...worse than Kola bad...still early tho. It was mental mistakes and that probably from being less than 2 weeks on the job. Hes gotta get better before the season tho

  11. We all know the reasons why ZC had a resurgence after he came here in 2019. Top notch pass pro, a great running game and sure-handed receivers who also played the game tough as nails and complimented his style of play. The past 2 seasons, they have not provided him with anything even close to that. In fact, the offensive rostering and planning has been borderline inexplicable.
  12. MLB may have something similar. Otherwise, not sure. I just know the NTL is a detriment.
  13. Elgersma, yeah pretty much. We will see how game 2 goes but I think he will essentially be qb3. If perkins’s runs short yardage maybe they’ll roster elgersma as 2 but functionally use perkins as 2. I’m not worried about eli yet, he barely played C. Ellsbury played most of the snaps. But his performance sure does lead to us being thin at C.
  14. mos doesn’t care about what fans or media has to say about the club. Maybe read the last paragraph, instead of jumping to strawman arguments, and bitching for the sake of bitching to avoid actually talking about football.
  15. yep. In theory he could, in practice probably not, in reality not any time soon. his velocity is fine. he needs touch and accuracy improvements, and decision making improvements. which you expect from a first game qb. he had some good throws and while he has limitations, his strengths still make him very useful.
  16. I agree. I'd love to hear the Xs and Os too, but I completely agree that a bunch of fans with a limited knowledge of them would start spewing hate if he shared.
  17. The way you guys like to pick everything apart, not saying much is probably the smartest thing MOS can do. We could always try the maple leafs approach of letting the fans and media chase guys out of town they don't can do their jobs. Very successful in getting rid of guys without the right stuff for the playoffs like Mitch Marner. Take a breath and enjoy the team for what it is. Plenty of time for bitching once the games actually start 😂
  18. Elgersma needs a lot of seasoning, and i believe he will work hard. Realistically, he should be 3rd string. He may throw great in practice but the game is moving too fast for him right now. Loved Smith/Shay/Singer Very worried about Tui. He needs to be a lot better.
  19. NHL is only league with no trade list right?
  20. Brady wasn't getting a lot either. Sask is pretty good at mucking up the middle. Certainly isn't going to improve much over the course of this season. He did make some nice throws down field into tight spots. Probably speaks to his accuracy and quick decisions more than anything.
  21. Is it, at 29? I think he is what he is and you just find a way to work with that.
  22. Perkin's arm strength is improvable, but he is going to have to work at it. Dieter Brock had a so-so arm and in the off season he went home, practiced throwing shot put weights and had a monster year.
  23. Agreed. Anyone can have an off year, but two bad years back to back are a pattern. Yes, the OC and O-line were poor last year, but a pattern is a pattern and Zach has a history of injuries that are increasingly difficult to bounce back from. Elgersma looks like he could be our QB of the future and he didn't arrive any too soon.
  24. Again, I really wanted VAJ when he was younger. Thought he could be really great if he had some consistency instead of moving around all the time. Not that that version of the Bombers would have been able to provide him consistency, but still.
  25. Chris-Ike looked better and MOS made a comment this year about how we had been playing him out of position but he looked better in his natural role. It's at least possible we'll see a switch there.
  26. Anyone watch Calgary play last year after July? VAJ is awful. It's not a mistake that every team he's on is always in a hurry to replace him.
  27. They keep trying say ask who will be the next Pamela Anderson. She wasn't even on the show in the first season. The hottest one might not be here in season one, they've gone through so many cast members (it's an instagram post showing off the teaser for the Baywatch reboot)
  28. I think we got a brief glimpse into what Zach is still capable of when he has targets and time. Add in our extremely efficient run game and there's not reason to think he isn't going to have a resurgence ala Harris/Mitchell. Keep him clean in the pocket and he's going to be available in ways he hasn't been the last two years as well. Not to mention his relationship with Condell is a great environment to be developing Ermerdsma in. There's a lot of teaching happening right now. I think this is an underrated aspect which may not be as effective if Adams Jr was suddenly dropped into the mix instead. Again, blue glasses. But there is value in retiring Zach in blue and gold.
  29. You nailed it regarding Zack....Fingers crossed he lasts the year.....One positive is that it looks like we have a solid no 2 and 3 ...Elgersma ...Perkins....not necessarily in that order....I have to say Perkins surprised the heck of me, considering his lack of Canadian ball experience...He looked really comfortable at the controls
  30. When we are talking our receiving corps. we have to mention Singer...This guy plays like he wants to stay and made a very good argument for just that.....White is all of his stats. and more...Petersen had a poor showing yesterday but that could be because the hogs up front were not being able to punch some holes for him...One more preseasoner and some guys better step up their game
